And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference! The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

330ml bottle from Brewdog shop. Bubbly off white head disappears quickly, good lacing. Clear dark amber body. Good nose of pine and citrus. Flavour less good, grass, straw, a little biscuity, lingering bitter grass. Mouthfeel is thin and watery, medium carbonation. Decent for a near enough alcohol free beer, refreshing enough but a lightweight among the usual Brewdog efforts.

Bottled. Pours hazy brown with a big light brown head. Smells a bit sour, fruity hoppy. Tastes clear bitter fresh hoppy, watery with a similar finish.

Bottle from Asahiya. Thick piney hop and rough crude tea aromas. Light golden amber color. Very mild caramel / trashy harsh hops / ends up more like a heavy tea than anything else. Thin body, with a rasty hop texture. Nice try. Falls off fast in mid palate and finish is empty. Another novelty from the novelty mongers. Next.

Red, dark brown beer with a beige head. Very fruity and floral hoppy aroma. Very watery body. Very harsh, dry and grassy bitterness. The best non-alcoholic beer but this is like hopped water, nothing else.

Brew dog have themselves narrow criteria with this one, and it’s quite nice overall, but amazing when compared to other "near beers". Reminds me a bit of the pretty things 1942 recipe remake, but in a good way

This is important! It’s 0,5%! Brewdog proves successfully that it’s possible to create an excellent beer with almost no alcohol in it. It’s a taste of a warm summer night. Flowers, citrus and hops. Lots of hops! As they say: "Plug in, kick back and enjoy as we welcome to the stage the world’s first low ABV beer officially cranked up to 11"

Dark amber with off-white head. Grass and floral hops. Lightly malty. Distinctively bitter taste.

(Backlog) Bottle. (from sweden not too sure which rating is correct) Golden pour with white head. Hoppy aroma, grassy, herbal and spice tones. Flavors follow although a bit light on body, not surprising. Almost the best "beer" of the night even though its .5%.

tommann (2487) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 27, 2014
330ml bottle. Pours orange brown with a medium head. Aroma is dusty toffee and piney mango hops. Taste has carbonated water and toffee, with a little bitter resin in the finish.

Au palais, houblon et citron mais malheureusement le faible taux d’alcool nuit ŕ la longueur en bouche.
