COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference! The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

Bottle. Golden color, nice beige head. Pleasant hoppy aroma, floral notes, fruity and some citrus. Harsh bitter flavor. Thin and rather bad, actually.

Pours a dark amber colour with a tall frothy off-white head. Aroma is pretty much all hops with notes of orange and citrus. Taste is also very dry and hoppy with the same citrusy-orange notes. It could use a lot more malt! Although of course, that would defeat the purpose of a low alcohol beer. I wish I could’ve tried the other Nanny State. Definitely the best low alcohol beer I’ve tasted.

This is the best Low Alc. by far of all I have tasted. No doubt. Great hops and great effect as there is now alcohol making you sleepy.I want more of this.

Orland bottle brought back. Pretty serious looking pour; amber-brown with a big foamy head. Nice aroma too, caramel malt with a hint of hops. The flavor starts okay but then finishes watery. Two outta three ain’t bad for such a little beer. I would buckets of this compared to any other NA I have tried...and remember I’ve been pregnant twice and forced to seek out NA’s.

Post work beer, damn it feels good. Pours copper with a small egg shell white head. Aroma is full of centennial and columbus hops - citrus, grapefruit and a bit pine. A small hint of bread crust malts. Very simple and easy going. Taste is very hoppy with lots of citrus and grapefruit and a resinous quality, turning over into a harsh bitterness and a bit of astringency. The malt is pretty much gone in the taste, with the exception of a small dark grain note. Obviously the body is totally thin, but it’s quite refreshing and pretty much just the drink I need right now.

MY absolute favourite beer. It tastes richly of the citrustones and the freshness from the Amarillo.A standard in the swedish systembolag.

Well well, Unique. Standard pale ale aroma. Thin spritzy palate that you’d expect from 0.5%. Aftertaste a bit bitter, left over coffee grounds. At least it has some flavour for low alc beer

Bottle from Asahiya. Big hoppy nose, lots of citrus and grass, pine and hay. Light caramel is also somehow coming through, plus coffee. Deep amber. Brown with a fluffy, low head. Looks great. Very light malt, flavor, lots of coffee, like the ground somewhat, hay, grass, pine. Certainly not as nice as the nose, but still likeable, and full of character. Very bitter finish. Body is surely too light but hey, that’s life. The finish is a bit astringent and nasty, though. The best 0.5% beer I’ve had by a long ways. I would drink it all the time if I could get it cheaply (I mean soda prices!)

Bottle from Bierzwerg. Dark brown colour with medium head. Lot of hops is aroma. Flavour is bitter, watery, hoppy. Might not wanna drink many of these on same night thought.
