Bottle. Creany off-white good fully lasting head. Brown amber colour. Light malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Powerfull hreavy almost harsh bitter flavor. Long finish. Watery palate. The beer to drink and drive!
2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 ricke (476) - Malme, SWEDEN - JAN 19, 2010
Bottle.
Chestnut color with a medium sized pale beige head. Some lacings.
The smell is impressive. Basically just hops - grapefruit, floral notes, bitter resins, tobacco and grass. One-sided as hell, but kind of cool.
The taste is equally one-sided, but here it just goes wrong. It’s just bitter hop notes of grapefruit, resins and grass with absolutely no malts to back it up. No way near enough sweetness to balance it. It tastes like bitter hop water - and that is not a compliment. The finish is short and fairly bitter with notes of earthy and raw grassy hops.
No body to talk about, watery texture, a mess.
Even if I judge this for what it is, it’s still bad. The flavor lacks any positive characteristics. If poking at the government becomes more important than brewing good beer, it’s no surprise that the quality suffers. This must be a joke, and I don’t find it funny.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Vaiz (2034) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JAN 17, 2010
Bottle at The Beertemple, Amsterdam. Blind tasting. Pours a dark red to brown color with a small white head. Aroma is very hoppy and fruity. Flavor is extremely bitter with lots of hops, black tea and quite stale. Very bitter finish. Interesting low alcohol beer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 thebeertourist (4060) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 16, 2010
Bottle. Deep copper brown with a tan little head. Potent citrussy hops aroma as well as caramel. Tastes extremely bitter with grassy and citrus hops overpowering. Light body as expected. Extreme for sure, but an interesting experiment it is.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DruncanVeasey (5145) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2010
UPDATED: MAY 26, 2011 Ruby with a slim but dogged cream head dabbing the glass with lace. Aroma tinned peaches, BlackJacks, blackcurrant, Parma violets, rabbit piss...a winning combo if ever I sniffed it. Smells increasing like a bag of penny chews. Body full and slick like no other low alcohol beer I’ve tasted, the hop attack unforgiving as a 9% DIPA; lashings of grapefruit and bitter orange with some coffee, earth and nut husk to ease the quinine pill down. Nothing like as drying and chalky as HTDC. A truly unique experience in beer. The average individual would probably have to drink over 10 bottles of this insane creation to be over the UK alcohol driving limit, and would almost certainly collapse into some kind of blissful hop-induced narcosis long before they got anywhere near that tally. You’ve got to love The Dog.
3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Kestral (494) - Årnes, NORWAY - JAN 10, 2010
Pours a clear, dark reddish brown with a finger of tan head. The nose is bombarded with fruity notes, tropical fruits like mango and passion fruit, grapefruit, some resinous notes, some spicy notes, slight caramelized sugar and toast. Smells absolutely gorgeous. When sipped, the malt sweetness lingers for about a nanosecond before the tongue curls up in an attempt to hide from the relentless bitterness. This screams for balance. It’s not a bad brew, I still enjoyed it, but good lord, it’s nothing I’d drink all night which the 1,1% abv invites me to. As expected, it’s a bit thin. Interesting and fun experiment, but I don’t think I’ll buy it often unless I know I have to drive home.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 MPA (715) - Amager (form. Nørrebro&Aalborg), DENMARK - JAN 10, 2010
Bottle. Clear dark amber (cola) with off white head. Aroma of grass, flowers, apricot and the wife, who had this beer mentioned swedish water streams (?). Flavour has a slight malt sweetness, blood grape, apricot and a distinct bitterness. Watery yet fresh body.

2.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - JAN 8, 2010
Dark ruby color; small head. Wonderful hop aroma, very fruity, mango, oranges; but also very light and sweet malt and very light cheese. Weak body, dry caramel flavor, dry resins, extremely dry mouthfeel, therefore too astringent; also aggressive roasted malt, dry and burnt of course; harsh palate. Extreme bitterness. Nice aroma but unpleasant flavor.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Madsnp (896) - DENMARK - JAN 8, 2010
Bottle. Pours mahogany coloured with a nice off white head. As expected, very upfront hoppy aroma with notes of spruce/pine, lemons and grapefruit. Weak body yet flavourfull beer. Notes of resin and lemons. Well done.
