COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is Never Mind the Anabolics. A 6.5% India Pale Ale infused with creatine, guarana, ginseng, gingo, steroids, maca powder, matcha tea and kola nut. It is about time the greatest sporting event on the planet was not sponsored by fast food companies, sugary fizzy drinks producers or monolithic multi-national brewers. A burger, can of fizzy pop and an industrial lager are not the most ideal preparation for the steeple chase or the dressage (for human or horse). So we decided to give the athletes something that was going to make them happier and better. A way to relax before a big event and at the same time increase the chances of winning. This summer, revive the spirit of the people’s Games from the comfort of your favourite bar. Never Mind the Anabolics takes its lead from the relentless marketing campaigns of global fast food chains and international mass production breweries that replace the sporting spirit with a fast buck, a greasy burger and an ugly plastic cup of insipid, fizzy, yellow lager. Dedication, training and passion are things of the past; Kick back, put your giant torch down and let our performance enhancing ingredients do the hard work. It’s not the taking part, it’s the winning that counts

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet, Hamar and shared with Leif and Dag Erik. Amber coloured body with a slight haze. White, rocky head with fine retention. Smell of fresh fruity hops and mid-sweet malty sweetness. The taste profile follows the nose promoting refreshing red oranges and lightly caramel sweetness. Smooth bitter tail. Enjoying (Vikingskipet, 17.02.2013).

Bottle. A lightly unclear, dark golden beer with a dense, finger-thick light beige head. The aroma is is sure on the hoppy side, but with lots of coffee notes, guess that’s the guarana kicking in. Malty sweetness and some herbal notes too. The flavor is mostly bitter, malty sweetness in the back, with coffee and herbs. Full- to medium-bodied and with a nice carbonation level. Bitter finish with some herbal notes and coffee, and a decent malty sweetness. Quite pleasant, but not superb. 130222

Wonderful body with hazy, orange-yellow tint. The aroma is warm and fuzzy, with lots of fruit. The taste is a bit disappointing but still holds up. Finish a bit weak though.

Bottle. Hazy brown with a bubbly foam. Aromas are caramel and wheat with hints of pine and soapy, floral notes. Mixed spices with low orange and grapefruit notes. Toast with woody notes. Flavours are toasted malts with grapefruit and spritzy yeast. Lemon with lots of herbal and spicy notes. An interesting brew.
