Bottle from mane liquor. Very excited about finally trying this massive beer. Pours a pitch black with dark brown light bubbles as head. Huge sweetness in the aroma, molasses, vanilla, booze, bourbon almost and some raisins etc. Taste is very full on the palate, vanilla sugary sweetness, raisins, a little bit of powdered chocolate. Hides the 17% remarkably well. Cost me quite a bit but worth it what a beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Definitivamente um achado, cor escura como óleo sem espumada (nada mesmo). Na boca é licorosa como um vinho do porto se destacando notas de ameixa talvez um pouco de própolis. É uma cerveja única!

Holy cow! This beer was described as "a crazy powerful stout." It did not fail the hype. The alcohol is heavy, prominent and extreme. This beer has so much going on with it, it’s difficult to pinpoint one particular flavor that you can focus on. My wife described this beer as tasting like prune juice, gasoline and barbeque sauce. While all off those flavors are there, with age they most likely will settle down and create a very subtle compete bodied stout with an extreme alcohol content.

Bottled. Poured inky black with a surprisingly short-lived, fizzy head. The aroma picked up warm licorice and molasses joined by lesser coffee roast, vanilla, and soy.. huge and malty overall, and despite the punch I could tell it packed, it hid the booze well. The flavor found well-roasted star anise, soy, and fresh vanilla bean at the core, with peppery alcohol and odd, prickly carbonation laced throughout.. finished with rich, warm, roasty malts.. again it hid the booze well. Heavy-bodied and syrupy on the palate, with the little hit of spritzy carbonation.. this came together very well.

Black with no head. Roasted nose with notes of smoked sausage, alcohol and berries. Smoky flavour with sweet, fruity notes. Dry finish.

2500 yen from Asahiya. 17.2% batch 57 A thick viscous pour like motor oil with a slight purplish dark brown head. Thick meaty umami aroma, some fig, plum or dark fruity notes to it. Wow, super sweet almost candyish at first followed by the alcohol burning down my throat! In the aftertaste I get roast coffee beans & some hints of dark chocolate. As I drink it tge sweetness starts to reveal extra layers of depth. Really interesting stuff, worth the money as a special treat. Think of it as a port rather than a beer because at 17.2% it has that kind of flavor profile! To be sipped slowly & enjoyed...

My perfect beer. Big sweet, and dark. Pours pitch black with a small head. No light gets through this. Had it twice, the original batch after it had been aged a couple years and the more recent batch, only a couple months old. The younger batch was much more "wild" with the alcohol being more noticable than in the original batch with some age on it...

33cl bottle. Note: second batch of the beer contains 15,2% alcohol, according to the label. APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, small stable beige head. NOSE: little smoked, lots of burned malts, some chocolate, some coffee. As the beer warms up, it gets a lot sweeter and better! TASTE: Smooth drinking, alcohol warming, some hints of coffee, lots of chocolate, long lasting taste in your mouth. When warming up a little, even more alcohol warming, gets rather sweet and chocolate is more balanced in taste, somewhat boozy even.

Pours black and thick. Smelling like chocolate, roasted coffee and hints of burnt caramel. Tastes like hell. First sip quite smoky and dark chocolaty. Second sip softer on the grounds of an excellent imperial stout. Third sip (in a row) you feel a sweet flavor that reminds me of the tokyo, but softer, yet present. A most excellent blend to me.
