Body is pitch black and oily with a quickly disappearing brown head. Nose has deep sherry notes accompanied by coffee, chokolate and molasses. Taste is intense, beginning sweetly and finishing in a brandy-like warm, bitter finish that lasts forever. Carbonation is quite low and the palate is rich, oily and luscious. This is a nice big beer for slow enjoyment with a good friend.

.05 litre sample from the bottle at beergeek. as black as black can be with half a dozen tiny brown bubbles on the surface; thick and intimidating; aroma of molasses, choc vanilla ice cream, old leather; sticky date pudding flavours with some sweet soy sauce and burnt toast; extremely well balanced in the finish with plentiful burnt bitterness that never seems excessive and choc-coated caramel

Wonderful. Of course not a session beer, but end of evening yes yes. Pours from bottle with a fabulous dark chocolate head, fades quickly with no lacing. Rich chocolate nose, smooth and rich on the palate with a tang of carbonation. Follow through of dry but rounded flavour, perhaps a hint too much of alcohol (15.2%) but I can live with that... great.

33cl bottle, shared @ William K. Batch #102, bottled on 03-05-13. 15,2. Pitch black, almost no head. Soy sauce, dark bread in aroma. Flavor has soya, burnt malt, dark chocolate, sweetness. Sticky. Warming, full bodied. Very heavy for sure. At the moment not that enjoyable. Not what I expected.

From the bottle at Līgo Ziema beer festival Riga Latvia. Aroma is very intense balsam, something like TNP, bomb! Very intense beer, so much malts, hops, coffee, dried fruits. So fkn intense beer! One of the best imperial stouts I had in my life.

330ml bottle, pours back with a small head. This is the 15.2% version. Chocolate toffee stickiness with alcoholic port infusion. Sugary with juicy fruit flavours making their way through. Hazelnut and vanilla notes. Despite all the favours an the evident high Abv, the finish is short and balanced. Low carbonation and a slick palate. Very moreish and easy to drink for the Abv. Excellent strong stout.
