3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fletchfighters (817) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 21, 2012
A-- Poured black, syrupy black. Just a bit of red ruby on the sides of the glass and a very short lived film that quickly vacated the glass. Mostly chocolate syrup looking and a good layer of oil that covered the glass. Fair amount of alcohol legs.
S-- Sweet nose. Char and ash to start but changed to port, date, chocolate and dark fruits. Mostly dark cherry. Alcohol is well hidden for the size of the beer. Honestly was surprised.
T-- Syrupy, thick and sweet. Mostly reminded me of a port. Decent amount of chocolate and roast malts to carry this pretty well. Other notes were molasses and some toffee.
M-- Rich, syrupy, and oily. Once again the alcohol is quite well hidden. Get more of the Brewdog part of the beer than anything else. Very little char and ash and a lot of dark fruits and chocolate. Little carbonation but it worked well.
O-- Slow, slow sipper. Shared the bottle 4 ways and that was prefect. Unsure how could do a 330 alone or even attempt to with all the sweetness to this. Still get enough of the base beer to like it. Good long term cellaring prospects for this.

Bottle from Khioskh.
Black beverage, rapidly disappearing head.
Molasses, coffee, a hint of the alcohol snapping at your nose. A shipload of sweet malt, burned sugar, smaoke and oak. Incredibly rich.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 daje (1291) - NORWAY - AUG 7, 2012
Bottle.
Thick black in appearance, no head.
Strong alcohol aroma with coffee, tar, brandy?
Sweet taste, roasty with chocolate, good bitterness, very little alcohol taste for being this strong.
Very nice result of three extreme beers
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 NosirIwont (1721) - Aalborg Vestby, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2012
Bottle. Pours pitch black with a diminishing brown head. Aroma is coffee at first, slightly tart and with notes of cream and chocolate. Alcohol deep down. As it warms, dark fruit notes appear and gives it a port wine feel. Flavour is sugary and fat with dark fruits, heavy and with an alcohol burn; again port wine. The initial flavour contines in the finish and end with a lingering grassy note in addition to the other notes. Overall a very good, if somehwat heavy beer, well-balanced considering the high alcohol percentage. 24.07.12.

Dark colour, lnot much in the way of carbonation. ittle foam. Nice aroma, a lot of malty notes to even out the heavy alcohol.

Bottle thanks to Martin who bought me this as part of my Best Man/his wedding beer bag. Came from Bottle Shop in Canterbury. Black as black with no head. Even swirling it, I’m getting no head. Tarry, roasty, liquorice, molasses aroma. There’s a smoked thing that is rather good. Flavour is a lot of molasses, fig and prune. Lots of chocolate. As good as Dark Horizon? No. As good as Black? Definitely no. Good idea, good collab. It’s interesting, and yes gave me enjoyment. Some heat from the alcohol. Interesting and drinkable, but maybe not the best sum of the parts.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - JUL 2, 2012
Courtesy of Jens (Ungstrup) Absolute black color; the carbonation seems low, but produces a generous brown head, reucing to a thin layer. The aroma is nice but not impressive, with cardboard, roasted malt, coffee, some tobacco and leather; mild; mainly off-putting because of the cardboard. But the flavor is fantastic; the sweetness is immediately perceived, providing a canvas for the plots of the chocolate, roasted malt, tobacco, light liquorice; it has a correct bitterness level; the alcohol is warming the mouth, but not warning the mind, as its perception is relatively hidden. Great.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 goatwhisperer (19) - - JUN 16, 2012
Bottle from Purvis served in a tulip glass.
No head at all, even with a semi-agressive pour. Black, completely opaque.
Coffee nose with alcohol and berry overtones.
Moderate fizz on the tongue, strong coffee flavour with a sweet cherry finish. It hides the extremely high alcohol content very well.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tmrmwel (510) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 12, 2012
Bottle. Pours black, with a small too almost unnoticeable yet creamy head leaving nice lacings. Aroma is almost towards oil, with notes of roasted malts, liquorice and alcohol. Full sticky body, with soft too no carbonation. flavour is sweet liquorice and alcohol. Had expected more from this one, but maybe in a couple of years it will be better?
