COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bottle contains an India Pale Ale from a bygone era. An era of towering sailing ships, burgeoning empires and world shaping beers. This is an ale hand crafted with British malts and English hops to recreate the epic IPAs that were sent on monumental ocean voyages from England to India by sea in the 1800s.

Old World IPA is an attempt by punk post modern Scottish Brewers to pay tribute to a 200 year old odyssey and heritage with a healthy dose of swash-buckling adventure.

Thanks. 500 ml. bottle split with 3 @ “Procrastinated Spontaneity /…………/ 2 Boekjes” tasting @ Gent. Pours a darker amber, nice big off-white creamy head. Nose is medicinal, dusty, bit weak with some pine resin in the back and cough syrup. Taste of bitter herbs which outnumber herbal pine resin, burned sugar, cough medicine, quite herbal, caramelized oranges. Substantial body. Not a big fan of this, this felt like drinking cough medicine for me.

Bottle frae Brew Dog on-line. Great looking label that. I was completely smashed when I needlessly cracked this open at the end of a heavy night at Weasel’s. My only memory of this beer therefore is one of vague disappointment, and the fact that I chose to pass out rather than finish the bottle perhaps speaks volumes.....whether about the beer or my idiocy in wasting £12 on a large bottle I had a few sips of I’m not quite sure.

Bottle: Light amber coloured, not completely clear, small persistent off-white foamy layer; exotic fruits and strong herbal-medical aromas in the moderate to solid bitter-sweet nose; quite robust bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; dryish - surely not completely dry - lingering bitter and medical finish with losds of balancing caramel.Good stuff, but not really exciting…
