3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 slang (654) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - FEB 3, 2012
bottled. Copper English ale w/ fresh nose of wood & malts. Tastes is smooth hops, yes, but this is really malty. Grassy but never citrus or pine. Pushed back&forth between the balance of hops/malts. Never claims to be a Modern American IPA, so I never expected such & was pleased.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 obguthr (3225) - Poquoson, Virginia, USA - FEB 3, 2012
Freshly split wood nose. Clear copper, medium sticky yellow head. Again, woody and oaky with a tangy overripe orange base. Finish is bitter peat. Soft carbonation. This typifies what I would imagine a Scottish IPA should be. Above average.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 glennmastrange (1884) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - FEB 3, 2012
Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of roeasted and caramel, light to moderate grapefruit/orange for the hops, light leather and soap for the yeast, with wood and faint dried fruit in the background. Head is average size, frothy, slightly off-white with fair lacing and leaves a decent raft in the glass throughout. Color is clear medium amber/orange. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively carbonation ann finishes lightly astringent and is a bit sticky on the lips. I don’t get the low scores this beer has so far. It certainly leans towards the Brittsh style of an IPA with its less aromatic and more bittering hops. Would have again.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheBeerGod (4627) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - JAN 28, 2012
Bottle. Pretty coppery amber pour with a short, foamy tan head. Aroma is creamy malt notes, soft spicy hops, caramel, and fruit notes. Taste is apricot, light citrus, caramel, sweet malt, spicy hops, grassy notes and toasted bread. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation and a mild lingering bitterness. Finishes with more spicy hops, soft citrus, sweet malt, bread dough, caramel, and apricot.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Arayaga2 (1620) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2012
Light apricot color with a dense inch of off-white head. Aroma is mild caramel and hops, and taste is the same, with a richer maltier focus that actually balances against the hops. No real English or Scottish yeast character to speak of. $6/22oz
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Blairgus (1749) - California, USA - JAN 20, 2012
19 jan 2012. Clear amber, no bubbles. Malty, meaty, caramel. Not what I was expecting or hoping for. But very interesting. Med/full body and a bit fuzzy. Soon weird for an ipa. Like a light coffee stout. Not too burnt or coffee but enough notes to make it seem that way. I like this but I can help but think this is another mistake on the part of Brew dog.
