COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bottle contains an India Pale Ale from a bygone era. An era of towering sailing ships, burgeoning empires and world shaping beers. This is an ale hand crafted with British malts and English hops to recreate the epic IPAs that were sent on monumental ocean voyages from England to India by sea in the 1800s.

Old World IPA is an attempt by punk post modern Scottish Brewers to pay tribute to a 200 year old odyssey and heritage with a healthy dose of swash-buckling adventure.

Hazed copper color with a strong white, lacy white head. Slightly sweet, definitively malty with a hop bite in the finish. Tasty and unremarkable.

Tampa, Fl - Total Wine - 1 pint, 6.4 oz bottle. Pours a murky medium orange, sticky eggshell white head that leaves some nice sticky lacing. Aroma has some sweetness to it with some dates and raisins, some sticky pine syrup. Flavor is very sweet for an IPA. Leans more towards a barleywine with prunes, dates and raisins. Very slight citrus bitterness. Some bread pudding sweetness in the back end. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Expected more.

Bottle shared at beers of the world. I feel as this is not as fresh as it should be. Aroma is very sugary with a caramel malt and sweet pine sap. Pours thick and deep orange red with a good film. Taste is bitter and dry with pine hops, a sweet fig taste and a big malty back. Far too sweet. It tastes like the Squall IPA I left sitting in the basement for two years. oops.

A finger of head with low retention on a dirty, dark straw colored body. The aroma has a malty richness to it; lemon, caramel and anise. Interesting. Whoa, the taste is unlike any IPA I’ve ever had. Big and bold malt sweetness at the beginning with a lemon bitterness coming in the middle. There’s a barnyard funk throughout it all. The texture is softer with moderate carbonation. This is tough to like... but it is a different take on IPA compared to most American IPAs.

Great beer. This aroma is orangey smelling hops and a little woodie. The aperaence it copper and cloudy maybe a liitle to much for style. The taste is where it is at. Taste fruity citrus hops and a medium Carmel backbone.

650 mL bottle from Total Wine in Tucson AZ, served in a tulip. Pours clear caramel with a moderate-tall off-white head that remains and leaves lots of fine lace. The nose has lots of biscuit and caramel malts, nuts, grain and earth, along with delicate English hops. The flavour is very well balanced, moderately bitter English hops paired with sweetness from caramel and nutty malts. The finish is long and delicately hopped with an acidic bite. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth milky texture and intense carbonation. Overall, this is a great English style IPA. Great malts and beautiful English hops in beautiful harmony. Kudos to BrewDog for a beautiful ale! 2012-03-13

Bottle 650? ml
Aroma caramel, fig, vinous with dry alcohol notes. Lighter hop touches. Resinous. 7-
Appearance fine haze on amber with medium tanned beige cap. Good lace shown. 4-
Flavor and Palate : medium bodied with thinner walls. Plum, caramel, light tartness with slight hop feel. Bitter late finish…It shows how much our palates has progressed and sided with high alpha hops.

Orange/Amber and cloudy. Aroma of malt, bread, and biscuit. Taste is a bit bitter, but the malt slightly overpowers the hop bitterness. Flavor is bready and biscuity with some dried fruit. Very nice beer. I miss IPAs in this style.

A good IPA , old world style, malty aroma and flavor, strong one and well balanced. Medium carbonation, and excellent head retention. Will drink it again, definitively.
