COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle & occasional keg,special
Gently crated by hand in Scotland, this Old World Stout perfectly recreates the imperial beers of years gone by; brewed to the traditional percentage of alc. 9.5% by vol. To avoid freezing during its journey across the Baltic Sea to snowy Moscow.
All full bodied taste, this opulent whirl of hops and malt even rivals the most colourful of imperial faberge eggs.
Originally created to celebrate the Russian royal family, this beer is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.- See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/old-world-russian-imperial-stout#sthash.sIclAyxe.dpuf

Black with slowly disappearing dark beige head. Roasty, coffee and chocolate aroma with a bit of a dreid plum and alcohol. Very sweet with a lot of hotness on a back of a throat coming from alcohol.

Bottled. 20cl sample. The aroma has chocolate, sweetness, caramel, coffee. Black coloured beer with a beige head. The taste is sweet, has sweetness, some roast, chocolate and the beer has a lingering smooth bitterness. Medium-full bodied stout. Nice one!

Bottle from Lekkerbier, batch 251 BB 17-10-18, large sample, served in a snifter. Dark brown color, medium brown head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, mocha, coffee, brown sugar, dark bread, slight smoke, hint of estery yeast, slight alcohol, licorice. Basicly all the stuff you expect in a RIS, but it did come to me in the exact order I put it on digital paper. After taking a sip, the biscuit and smoke comes through a bit, but immediately there is the licorice and dark roast taking over again. Slight estery yeast and alcohol. Quite sugary sweetness, bit dry and bitter as well, but not hoppy bitterness, but all malty. Actually, its a bit too hot on the alcohol and the slight spicy yeast, makes it remind me of a de Molen Rasputin. Soft carbonation, medium body. Slight alcoholic in the finish.

Bottle. Black, low corbonation, espresso coloured fuzz. As cold dark chocolate, some sweet woodyness, herbs on nose.Thick body with sweetness, but bitter enough to keep it nice, neither oily nor sticky. Really dark roastedness, like charred wood. Gets to be a bit overpowering, covers pretty much everything else, especially in the finish. Cleanly done, but really dark roasty, RIS.

Pitch black with nice fluffy coffee coloured head. Expected aromas of dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla and charcoal, plus just a hint of dark fruits. Taste is initially very sweet, with treacle, the dark fruits, vanilla bean, a little alcohol. It then transitions to bitter dark chocolate and espresso and finally dries right out in the finish with some smokiness and ash. Fairly full bodied. Quite complex and highly enjoyable RIS, only detracted by a little too much ash.

Bottle, september 4th 2014, remote session with esp0r in memories of his first car. The beer is as dark as the very same night in appearance, totally black, crowned with a tall nice brown head. massive aroma of dark fruits, cocoa, earth, roasted barley. Fullbodied taste, chocolate, robust coffee, notes of cherry, earthy hops. Complex yet clean. Bittersweet finish with a light alcohol note. Nice lasting roasty aftertaste with malt sweetness. A really nice beer, very suitable for the occasion. See you on the other side RDFH.
