COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg and bottled, special
In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, we’ve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas that’ll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity that’ll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, you’re left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf
Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate

One of my favourite brewdogs, and that is high praise! Multi layered, complex aroma, toast, spruce, citrus, earthy, dark nutty brown colour, with a head that soon sinks. Sweet but bitter taste, it’s obviously full of booze, but the hops make it difficult to just sip, I want to glug away at it. It’s not a straight barley wine, for me it’s something far more interesting. Love it!

Draft - nose is orange peel and citrus. Odd. Don’t like it. Super bitter for a style i like. Weird.

Draft. This is by far the most interesting looking beer I have seen. It looks like chocolate milk. It is murky as fuck. I don’t know if to take points away for the appearance or give them... Chudwick says it looks like a latte. WTF? I am leaving the rating at that, decipher from the numbers.

On tap @ Avery Strong Ale Fest 2015. Pours a murky orangish brown appearance wit ha dark brown head. Quite hoppy, caramel, herbal, grassy nose with a bit of light citrus. High bitterness. Pretty boozy. Pine, caramel, heavy herbal flavor. Finishes kind of harshly. Ok.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, opaque dark brown with a coffee crema, strong barrely coffee and gravy nose. Rich and boozy, with a thick texture. Flavours of wet wood, soy and dry dry cocoa. Off-putting yet very moreish. Weird stuff!

Keg at BrewDog Shepherd’s Bush - London. Pours clear, bright ruby with a creamy mellow beige head. The nose holds a good dose of caramel, oily pine, berries and ripe citrus. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with some striking alcohol, toasted grains, aged toffee, gooey pine, orange, caramel, bread. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation; chewy. Warming and sticky on the finish, with more ripe and gooey citrus, berries, caramel, faint butterscotch and bread. Very tasty overall.

Taste is caramel, grapey, brown sugar, some alcohol, somehwat herbal, grassy, and oaky with a touch of heat on the backend. Slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. OK.

Bottle at home. Clear brown pour, almost no head. Aroma is quite spicy, some alcohol, plant hops, licorice, caramel and some ripe fruits. Flavor is quite bitter, spicy malts and quite strong. Nice balance and a decent body.
