Bottle 12fl.oz. @ post Borefts BF 09 hotel tasting
Clear dark black color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, caramel, bourbon, wood, smoke notes, vanilla notes. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091031]

Bottled. A dark red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of soy sauce, caramel, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, alcohol, wood, and roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of kristina. Pours an almost clear dark brown with a warm orange hue and a small off-white film of a head. Lovely whisky aroma overpowering the roast. Medium body, almost flat, oxidized dark almost rotten fruit, sweet wood and whisky with a very discreet whiff of peat. Warming alcohol heat. 120412

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is toasted dark malty and light tarish. Mild whiskey note. Smooth malty and light toffee malty. Light whiskey note. Toasted dark malty and warming whiskey finish.

Bottle at Papsø. Clear red-brown coloured with a small off-white head. Sweet and roasted aroma of dried fruits and whisky with notes of port wine, earth and oxidized notes. Sweet and roasted flavour of dried fruits and whisky. Roasted finish.

Slightly lighter brown than the Macallan. Clear. The nose is woody, earthy, slightly mushroomy with a little bit of alcohol and chocolate. Rounded, soft palate is sticky, chewy, rummy. The toffee and dark chocolate is fun, with some pepper and alcohol finish.

(12oz. bottle, BB 12/12/09) Pours a dark brown body with a spare beige head. Aroma of bourbon, roasted malt, caramel, and peat. Flavor of roasted malt, bourbon, and coffee with a dry finish.

Bottle at post Borefts BF 09 tasting. Dark brown, bit of whisky vanilla butter aorma. Smooth impy stout. Bit of heat on finish. Lots of good smooth dark choc, right side of bitterness, whisky heat and flavour but not overpowering.

(33cl bottle, sampled side-by-side with Islay 009, Speyside 010, and Macallan 011) Small beige head that mostly diminishes atop clear red-black body, no lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, Scotch, some chocolate, milder aroma than the other three. Taste is medium sweet, bittersweet chocolate, some Scotch, roast. Medium body, low carbonation.
