In bottle at Craig’s. Pours a very dark brown colour with a lacy tan head. Aroma of whiskey, dark chocolate, espresso coffee, caramel and Ovaltine malt. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Very nice.

08/04/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (on draught, vintage 2009). Nera, poco densa, poca schiuma, poco persistente. Naso etilico, note di whisky, vaniglia, cocco, cioccolata, caffé, ossidazione. In bocca è totalmente vuota, dolciastra, cioccolato, caffé, alcol. Ha perso totalmente di corpo, risultando addirittura lievemente acquosa. I tre anni di invecchiamento non gli hanno giovato. Una delusione.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2010 Bottle shared by cgarvieuk, thanks what a beer. Pours a totally black color with a medium beige head. A wonderful sweet nose; you could enjoy this all night, cocoa, coffee, light whiskey, dark fruit. Such a smooth flavor; just the right wood and whiskey, cocoa, sweet coffee, tasted aged a bit. Somehow mellow and wonderful.

Very Different Beer. Dark brownish black color with a burnt high alchohol finish. Highly hopped. There is a soy sauce type finish to this. Very hard to classify. Either you like it or you don’t. An "A" for effort!

Hand labeled bottle from Papsoe! Super dark brown with walnut/maple/brick colors mixed in. No head at all. Every enjoyable aroma with whiskey, malt, chocolate, with noticeable alcohol and a bit of smoke and prune. Whiskey flavor well blended with malt, grain, hint of marshmallow, burnt malt grain, soft wood/oak and maybe a touch of vanilla. Subtle and nice. A bit watery at first but moves quickly to a mid level mouth feel and a dry finish.

Smooth stout with smooth whiskey tones. Just a hint of smoke and a bittering finish. Smooth!

Bottle. I think this came from MagicDave06. pPours a dark brown with a generous tan head. Smells of smoke, roasted malt, oak, some hints of single mat, some spicy hints. The smoke is really big in this one. Tastes of smoke, roasted malt, scotch, dry, spicy, peaty. Unfortunately, the booziness is too present with not enough malt to back it up.

Draft at the Pub. Poured a dark, rich brown with a thick, creamy tan head. Aroma is strong with roasted malts, smoke (hickory), and scotch. On the palate, it is chewy and complex. The flavor really brings out a smoked hickory flavor, reminds me of smoked bacon. It also hides a bit of the scotch and brings out the roasted malts in the finish. It does finish pretty dry. I am normally not a fan over over smoked beers, but this one is an exception. It is so complex and packed full of different flavors, that I get past the smoke pretty easily.
