4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pitch black color, with a white head. A very rich dark chocolate, espresso, dark fruit brew with with just a faint touch of whisky. The mouth feel is well balanced and the alcohol hardly shows. From begginning to end this delivers what it promises with a lingering dark chocolate finish and moderate bitterness. Dangerously drinkable for its size. By far my favorite beer from these guys.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Clear dark reddish brown with a rough off-white head. Distinct aroma of oak, vanilla and hard roasted malt. Medium body again with very distinct notes of burned malt and some warming whisky accents. Has some malt bitternes in the finish that also contain quite some warming alcohol. A potent brew. 270408

This poured black with a small tan head witha flavor of roasted malts and chocolate and it had a nice kick to it as it warmed with a whiskey flavor and a sweetness to it but the whiskey was not overwhelming which was really nice overall this was enjoyable and would like to get a hold of again.CHEERS!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle courtesy of thewolf: Poured a deep black color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light whisky notes with some light black chocolate. Taste is also a mix between some light whisky notes, some black chocolate and some light sweet malt. Thinner body then expected with some good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I appreciated the fact that the whisky barrel-aging was not dominating but I dislike the thin body and the lack of character. Maybe my expectations were too high of the Abyss that we drank before this one totally blew my palate but I have to admit that this one was a disappointment.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was a great brew. Charcoally notes tagged along with a tremendous chocolate bitterness with a big whisky kick really make this dry drinking brew a tasty treat.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
(Bottle, thanks rickgordon!) Pours black. The aroma is heavily malty with roasted and light burned barely, some graininess, whisky, vanilla, butter, coffee, burned rubber, brow sugar, burned liquorice along with a nice alcohol warmth. Some sweet and subtle fruitiness in the undertones. The nose is all about the malt with a well integrated and not to strong oak touch. The flavour is fat with liquorice and coffee up front but also some notes of whisky and chocolate cream. Heavily roasted and light to medium burned. The oak is perfectly integrated in the flavour as well. The mouthfeel is heavy and oily. Lingering roasted aftertaste with oak in the background. Full bodied. This is an ass kicking Imp!
