Bottled, Special;
Port Dundas 1966 We set about to unite two of Scotland proudest heritages and produce a product which combined all that was good about Scotland’s whisky producing history and our contemporary take on a traditional Scottish style of stout. The fact that we have developed this product in conjunction with Duncan Taylor Ltd of Huntly means we mature our beer in the casks that once housed some of the most prestigious whiskies available today. The distinct flavours of these whiskies is beautifully infused into the beer giving a unique and unrivalled experience for both beer and whisky lovers. Paradox is produced in very small batches and each batch is bottled in a unique numbered limited edition bottle.

Bottle shared with koleminer20. Best before February 2, 2010, oh boy. Aroma is barrel, vanilla, roasted malt. Appearance is thin, dark brown, what head? There is no head. This beer is well past its prime. Taste is barrel and flat. Yowza. Mouthfeel is thin. No carbonation. Nothing. Like drinking watered down syrup. Overall, this was a huge mistake putting this in my body

Pours an oil black color with no head whatsoever. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, anise, super sweet malt, molasses, sticky toffee, hazelnut, milk chocolate, sweet cream. Taste is chocolate, caramel, semi-bitter black coffee, a rich caramel, toffee, dry molasses, lactic. Overall a great beer, this one seems to of been a bit past its best by date, still worth a purchase.

"past the best by date, but you really couldn’t tell. as with all of the paradox line, kinda thin and lighter in color than most impys. partly because of that, though, smooth as silk. dark chocolate and whisky in equal measures. quite tasty as dessert or on it’s own."

Draught as Paradox Port Dundas 2009 vintage @ Brasserie 4:20, Rome. Pours black with a very small offhwite head. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice, oak, light whisky, light smoke. Flavor is malty, little coffee, licorice, whisky, wood, light oxidation. Thin to medium body, somehow fizzy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. 090414

salvaticas (533) - - MAR 30, 2014
Bottle pour. Pours a pitch watery black. Heavy on the nose, notes of grapes and wine. Never thought something like this could have such a bad palate. Incredibly weak, no body. Hard to put down because of this. Flavor is still there, but its not complete. Disappointing.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with paperthin head that quickly diminishes to nothing. The aroma is chocolate, roast, and oak. Thin mouthfeel with strong peat and booze with light roast. Very good.

koleminer20 (1259) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JAN 19, 2014
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2015 330 mL bottle. The pour is a ruby-ish brown with no head to be found. The aroma is decent. A little roast, some good licorice, and not much else going on. The flavor is mediocre at best. Some licorice and a thin roast. The mouth feel is really thin and this thing just falls apart on the back end ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Scopey (9771) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 4, 2013
Bottle, batch #13 (best by 2/2/10) via trade. It pours darkest brown with a tiny, bubbly light tan head. The nose is sweet caramelised brown sugar, soft roast, toasty, coffee, wood, vanilla, coconut, toffee, touch of must and earthy cocoa. The taste is bitter-sweet, smooth, light roast, toffee, wood, earth, whisky, vanilla, chocolate, coffee and light oxidised notes with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Alcohol is extremely well-hidden. Smooth, soft, easy-drinking and well-rounded. Pretty impressive stuff really.
