3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pour. Pours a pitch watery black. Heavy on the nose, notes of grapes and wine. Never thought something like this could have such a bad palate. Incredibly weak, no body. Hard to put down because of this. Flavor is still there, but its not complete. Disappointing.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. The pour is a ruby-ish brown with no head to be found. The aroma is decent. A little roast, some good licorice, and not much else going on. The flavor is mediocre at best. Some licorice and a thin roast. The mouth feel is really thin and this thing just falls apart on the back end

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, batch #13 (best by 2/2/10) via trade. It pours darkest brown with a tiny, bubbly light tan head. The nose is sweet caramelised brown sugar, soft roast, toasty, coffee, wood, vanilla, coconut, toffee, touch of must and earthy cocoa. The taste is bitter-sweet, smooth, light roast, toffee, wood, earth, whisky, vanilla, chocolate, coffee and light oxidised notes with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Alcohol is extremely well-hidden. Smooth, soft, easy-drinking and well-rounded. Pretty impressive stuff really.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from 2008 Batch # 013. Smokey sweet maple aroma. Pours a delicious black coffee color in the glass. Flavor is not as assertive as the aroma... sweet smokey taste with a residual espresso note in the background. Overall, very drinkable. One of the best brews Iíve ever had.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured in a Jester King glass. A very good overall BA stout. A bit "watery," for lack of a better word, and not much aroma. But the flavor is robust. It almost has a red wine feel and taste, making it unique among the stouts I've had.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Johnís Market. When I cracked the cap, there was almost no sign of carbonation. Pours a completely opaque black with no foam. Smells sweet, chocolaty, with vanilla, oak and hints of dark fruits. Tastes very thin with little carbonation, and is surprisingly mild to start off with when cold, but there are lots of strong warm tones that pick up at the end like chocolate, alcohol, dark roast coffee. When it warms up the initial flavor is strong of plum and cherry.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
Purchased as Paradox Port Dundas: Aroma of vanilla, dark fruit, roasted malts. Pours an inky black with no head or lacing. The taste is lightly sweet - similar to the nose. Vanilla, dark fruit, with slight notes of whiskey and wooden whiskey barrels. A vry slight alcohol burn on the tongue on the after taste. Medium-full body with mild carbonation. Smooth almost creamy mouthfeel. Overall, a smooth dark sipper.
