Cask at The Rake, "What company Christmas party?" session, 4th Dec 08. Very dark brown with a red/orange tint. Slight sea salt & vinegar sharpness on the nose. Coats the tongue - chocolate, salted liquorice, warming alcohol. As you get further through the glass, you get the fruitiness coming through and vanilla at the start of each sip. Very smooth and the strength and whisky flavours aren’t as in your face as with the Islay versions.

Cask at Peterborough beer fest. This is aged in an Arran cask for those who want to know. Alround rating: Roasty malts, quite a bit of chocolate, the whiskey is far more subtle than in some examples of paradox, scottish alcohol is what iv written down?

A Mes rate: gravicask at Peterborough Beer Festival.
Looks like Paradox, therefore it’s jolly attractive. the aroma is rather odd. I was saying rubber and no one agreed until I said rubber washing up gloves (marigolds). It definitely is. Rubbery, strange but still pretty good. Excellent rich flavour, full of vanilla, lovely whisky and wood but I would prefer a little more peat but that’s just how I prefer my whisky, I know this is a grain variant. Gloriously dry yet sweet and fruity finish. Excellent palate as expected. More loveliness from BrewDog.
