COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
bottle and keg,series special
Imperial Stout aged in American Bourbon Barrels for 12 months. A schizophrenic translatlantic son of a bitch of a beer. Huge, decadent imperial stout clashes in the most beautiful way with the best incarnation of the American Dream since Nixon choked on a cheeseburger. We think this might just be the best Paradox ever. Available in both keg and bottle.

Bottle from Vinmonopolets BU. Pours close to black with a dark brown tint. A tiny, small bubbled, brown head. Smoke, vanilla, alcohol and some roasted malt nose. Balanced sweet and bitterness. Quite warming, but the alcohol is very well hidden. Thick, oily body. Low carbonation. Red fruit, some vanilla, dark chocolate flavour.

Paradox Heaven Hill a dark cola pour with a minimal tan head. The nose has lots of heat that burns your nostrils, vanilla, oak and bourbon with a solid umami backbone. Medium to full bodied with a sharp mouthfeel. The taste is rich savoury bourbon, chocolate, vanilla and oak. Not so complex but solid.

Bottle. Pitch black, small beige head. Marcipane, chocolate nose with hints of fruit. Delicious blend of marsipane and chocolate flavours, orangey whiskey notes. Dangerously drinkable. Close to perfection.

From bottle at Grünerløkka Mat & Mikro Festival 2014. Black body with a small tanned head. Aroma of wood, licorice, roast and alcohol. Taste of dark chocolate, bourbon, licorice, coffee, good complexity, light alcohol notes for the strength. Roasty bittersweet finish, pleasant bourbon and dark chocolate aftertaste.

Black with big head considering abv. Aroma is loads of bourbon. Vanilla, alcohol, spice, chocolate and roasted malt. Full vinous palate. Aftertaste is alcohol, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, some caramel and lingering alcohol finish. Overall: Well done! Bourbon is not my favorite cask, but its obvious that the barrels did its job.

Medium tan/brown head, fading over practically black, deep dark-brown beer. Rich chocolate & liquorice nose; quite roasted to burnt. Initially faint vanilla/Bourbon, gradually getting stronger. Bitter Bourbon, with vanilla/fresh oak, roast and hops. Fiery MF, enhanced by the lively carbonation. Bourbon lends some sweetness to the palate, but the roastiness is omnipresent. Very rich & full bodied. Seen all the marvelous Paradoxes gone by, as well as the Bourbon, I had expected more fireworks, somehow. It goes until just-not on several fronts: more balance than complexity.
