Imperial Stout aged in American Bourbon Barrels for 12 months. A schizophrenic translatlantic son of a bitch of a beer. Huge, decadent imperial stout clashes in the most beautiful way with the best incarnation of the American Dream since Nixon choked on a cheeseburger. We think this might just be the best Paradox ever. Available in both keg and bottle.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2015 Bottle brought home from Lisbon. Pours clear dark black, small tan head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving a nice ring and decent lacing. Aroma is light overall, notes of chocolate, roast, vanilla and bourbon. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, heavily boozy, spirits mixing with roasted malts and cocoa powder. Medium body, boozy boozy. More booze. You pretty much need to be a Heaven Hill fanatic to go for this one. Update; as it breathes this beer becomes much more approachable. Maybe the drink at room temperature thing has merit her. I am upping the score from a 3.5 to a 3.9 based on how this is evolving.

Bottle (served at room temperature as per the label instructions); pours black with a very thin mocha head; aroma of vanilla, chocolate, booze, and hints of oak and malt; taste is rich and smooth with chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits and hints of dark fruits and oak; finish is bittersweet and slightly dry with roasted malt and some alcohol with a hint of licorice; wow this one is fantastic

Big bourbon nose upfront then notes of vanilla and brown sugar. Dark chocolate, some coffee and dark fruits in the taste with more coming through as it warms. Smooth taste, medium body with a long lasting finish. Let it warm up to appreciate it fully.

Aroma of oak and whiskey. Incredibly heavy taste of soy, oak, dark malt, dark coffee and dark chocolate. This beer drinking only in small amounts. Maybe a little alcohol even in taste. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Think beer is rather difficult to drink. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Well integrated bourbon nose nose. Very thin for the 15%ABV. Head dies a quick death. Potent head cracker. Tobacco. Not much development in the glass. Fair long acidic burn. A letdown.

Bottled. Pours black with a small, lacing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, bourbon, woody notes and vanilla. Sweet flavor, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Full bodied, oily to syrupy texture and soft to flat carbonation. A great an solid Impy. ★★★★

Bottle from Gourmondo. Pitch black color with cappucino colored head. Nose has nuts, smoke, toasted cocoa and sweet malts. Really rich body with malty and nutty body and loaded ending. Superb all the way.

Bottle. Deep brown pour, thin tan head. Aroma is full of vanilla, bourbon, oak and a bit fruity roasted malts. Flavor is quite sweet, bitter and incredibly smooth. Slightly thin body and a little alcohol burn in the finish, but really well balanced and very drinkable. Dangerous how easily the 15% goes down.
