Bottle @ home, from Cgarvieuk. Thanks Craig! Almost opague. Dark chocolate, maple syrup and oak in the aroma. Malty sweet, velvety soft flavor with dark chocolate, vanilla, blended whisky and oak. Complex, deceptively soft and dangerously drinkable. Warming alcohol in the finish. Absolutely delicious!

Black body with a small big bubbled but beautiful beige head; Not to big but well composed nose, very US with lots of chocolate and cocoa in front, and a slight touch of whiskey sharp aromas I guess only because I know; Great body, huge pleasant carbonation, velvet texture, slightly bitter with a very little sharpness from alcohol; Long mellow textured finish with a strange salty sweetness and a bite in the tongue, a very little whiskey aromas fitting well with the cocoa bean.

12-oz. Thanks, Rene! Black with amber highlights and a loose sudsy gray head. Big salty seaweed and smoky peat nose on top of a bunch of chocolate and roast. Mild creamy medium body, soft carb. Roasty, salty, seaweedy, smoky, peaty mid-palate. Long salty bitter finish. Lovely stuff.

Bottled, BB 8/31/08. Poured murky, but mostly clear deeper brown with a short dusting and some bigger bubbles of tan for headage. The aroma opened with a brighter, just slightly smoked whiskey impression with aged and experienced oak.. also a touch of sour impression from these same elements.. behind that were rich dark malts that didn’t quite impart distinct character beyond a bit of sweeter chocolate.. roast was lighter, and the balance was right on! The flavor had sweeter cocoa and cake-like chocolates at the core surrounded by grainy whiskey and some lactose (sweet and sour).. finished more sour with oak, bourbon, and sweet chocolates.. decadent and memorable at the end. Medium-bodied on the palate with a lengthy, lightly sour and well-balanced finish.. grainy overall, which really worked well here. Great one!

It’s black with a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has notes of whisky, wood, roasted malt, light sweetness and chocolate. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, grain whisky, chocolate, dark fruits, light caramel, hints of citrus and it ends on a slightly burnt, bitter note.
