Commercial Description:
Bottle; Special.
NOTE: Marked batch 009 on the bottle label. Matured in an Ardbeg cask although this is not detailed on the label.
This Imperial Stout has been matured in specially selected Islay Malt Whisky casks.
This aging process infuses into the beer all the threatening smoke, the encapsulating peat, the Atlantic essence and raw power of Scotland's most distinctive Whiskies.

Bottle. Almost black colour with a very small tan head. Aroma of whisky and roasted malt. The flavour is roasted malt, oak, tar and smoke. Quite smooth medium-bodied. Very good brew.

Black pour with a thin tan head. Heavy scotch peaty aroma. Somewhat alcoholic, moreso than the Macallan. A very decent sipper. Challenging, but I like that. Definitely not something I could have more than 1 of. The stoutlike qualities take a back seat to the scotch flavors.

33 cL bottle, courtesy of chris o. Pours dark brown to black with a diminished tan head. Fruity and roasted malty aroma. Litght chalky aroma. Smoke and wooden flavour. Smooked and acidic flavoured into the finish. Lasting/lingering finish.

Bottle. Black pour, no head. Aroma is roasted sugary dark malts, peaty / meaty wood, and whiskey (similar to Jameson). Flavor is the same; with some wood also. Its pretty good, but tastes more like hard alcohol than the speyside.

Quite impressive. Thanks goes out to wetherel for hooking me up with this brew. Pours a nice, thick, almost chunky black. Aroma is smokey, didn’t expect it, and I spent awhile just taking it in. Hints of dark wood, whiskey, and cigars blend perfectly with the smokiness. Texture is thick and bold. Flavor is nice. Less whiskey than I imagined, which was good. Notes of vanilla and malt. Nice roasted barley and touches of chocolate. The alcohol shows, but it never gets boozy. All around great beer. Consider me a fan. Thanks again for sending this my way.

Really a love it or hate it beer, if you like a big smokey scotch then go for it. Pours dark brown with a small khaki head. Big carbonation and light bodied like the rest of this series, the base beer isn’t overwhelming allowing the barrels to define the character. This one is all big smokey and peaty scotch. Hints of leather, wood, and cigar all show. I enjoyed it a lot, but I can see how many will hate this.

11.2 oz bottle. Note to self - don’t drink all of these you have in one night, even if your baseball team wins their playoff series, particularly if you have to perform coherently at work the next day. Oooof. Best by 22/03/09. Near black with a thin tan head. Big burnt malt nose, boozy peaty. This version is seriously peaty and roasty, huge flavor. Nice, but overdone. Overbourbonated - yeah, I know, not bourbon, but it applies.

Wow, the nose is much like the ink from those old gestetner copiers in the 60’s, (read nearly hallucinogenic) scotchy, peaty and smokey too. Black, very small tan head. Taste is a bite of smoked peat, cured meat and dusty, woody malt. Full bodied, complex, gorgeously smooth texture. Wild!! Thank You Radek Kliber!
