330ml Bottle: Aroma of whiskey, burnt malts, smoke, peat, and a little chocolate. Poured black in color with a small, creamy, rocky, dark tan head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Good to very good lacing. Lightly sweet flavor. Tastes of whiskey, peat, smoke, wood, alcohol, and a little chocolate. Medium body. Oily, slightly dry texture. Soft carbonation. Smokey, peat, and whiskey finish.

Courtesy of footbalm. Pours dark darkness with brown edges and lasting tan head. It has a big aroma of roasty toasty fire charred oakiness with tasty earthy and peaty notes. Yum. The taste has a woody charred smokiness that is up front and in the face. I get some malty sweetness and vanilla underneath trying to cover up a big earthy and peatiness. Lots and lots of bold flavors here. Very nice.

courtesy of Per Forsgren - black coloured with very little foam left; peated whisky nose with some note sof chocolate and licorice; thick and full-bodied, strong sweetness followed by a robust bitterness; very long smokey whisky-like aftertaste with notes of smoked bacon

11.2oz., best before 22/03/09, with a big thank you to Jake (BlackForestCO)! Pours a dark brown with a foamy three finger tan head, good retention and moderate lacing. Aroma is big smoke and peat, not meaty but campfire like, and nice. Flavor bring out even more peat, smoke, molasses, light bourbon, and an enjoyable and unique earthiness on the finish. I found this to be more like a Smoked than IS, and somewhat reminiscent of Bièropholie Calumet Grand Chef but either way this is a good one. Thanks again Jake!

Bottle shared by Eric. Pours a murky black color with a small light brown head. The aroma, wow This beer smells so damn good, tons of pure peat smoke, how they did this I don’t know, but it is great. The taste was actually quite smooth an earthy malt presence, a slight whisky and wood flavor, and some hints of smoke and peat. Very nice. Original and tasty. I enjoyed this a lot.

bottle. pours black with beige head. nose is very musty, scotch, very smokey, and alcohol heat coming through. flavors are very smokey, scotch, musty, very dry and ashtray finish. finishes like you had a cigar last night. pretty watery body but surprisingly not too as hot as the aroma would indicate.

pours with a head in 3 parts lower is small bubbles toped with a pillowy middle and a head of large soap bubbles. the aroma is of all the best points of single malt with none of the sharp booz, smoking cedar and peat. first impression is the skill of production, it is totally balanced and drinkable. strong finish to match the nose, all peat and no burn. although it is not creamy or thick the mouth feel is smooth. head sinks quickly from whence it came into a pond-scum-like formation and some remnants on the glass. dark malt and hints of full city roast and Dutch process. improves as it warms.
