Pours opaque with an average, creamy and fizzy dark brown head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (toast, nutty, chocolate), light hops (grass), heavy yeast (leather) with notes of tar, licorice, medicine, smoke, and bandaids. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Bottle, many thanks to CGarvie for this old BD. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, TCP, medicinal, brown sugar, wood and caramel. The taste is roasty, peat, smoke, earth, toast, light alcohol, brown sugar, medicinal notes and spice with a very dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and full of great Islay whisky character. Has held-up well. Tasty stuff!

Bottle, thanks Craig. Dark brown with little head. Lots of peaty smoke, some wood in the aroma. Taste is hugely peaty smoke, wood, chocolate. Quite barel dominated. Little sweet and bitter finish. Bit too peaty

Bottle. Black with a short lived fizzy tan head. Sweet chocolate and smokey peaty scotch aroma. Tastes of scotch, peat, mild smoke, burnt grain, and chocolate. Very good.

Bottle. Black pour with minimal head. Aroma and flavor of ash, peat, whiskey, and mild smoked meat. Palate is moderate. I’m really enjoying this one.

Bottle. Pours black with light brown head. Nose of beef jerky, oak, heavy smoke, peat, cured meats and ash. Taste is same with some whiskey, roast chocolate malt, vanilla and roast coffee. Finishes dry roasty meat. Medium body.

Smoky whiskey and some sweetness. Islay whiskey married a porter and they had a son. And he was a good son. Lots of flavour. Is salty sweet and abundant in mouth. Hell yeah!

15th July 2009>br>Opaque black stout. Softish dry palate. Peaty smoky whisky, not overwhelming. Rich malt with subtle banana ester. Aniseed alcohol. Finishes with mild minerals and more peaty whisky. Rich and rewarding.
