Commercial Description:
Bottled; Special. Also cask.
This limited edition (001) sees a 8% Imperial Stout matured in a specially selected ex Duncan Taylor & Co Caol Ila 1996 single malt whisky cask.
NOTE: Some bottles of Speyside Batch 010 have been mis-labelled as Batch 001. However, those bottles clearly state Speyside on the bottle and should not be confused with the Islay Batch 001.

Pours a thinner near black with fast disapating small bubbled head. Lots of scotch aroma, some smokey peat, dark fruits, and sweet malt, also alcohol. Very scotch forward, peaty, some creamy chocolate, lots of roast. huge dark chocolate/barrel finish. Off dry but still kinda sugary in a distracting way. Medium bodied, fuller mouthful, very subtle fizzy carbonation.

Smell is smoke, wood, whiskey, and a little beef. Dark brown to black in color almost clear with a thin tan head. Taste is smoke and whiskey. A good body with the alchol getting you at the end of the sip.
