Paradox Isle of Arran = Stout Aged in Isle of Arran Whisky Barrels - This Imperial stout has been matured in specially selected Islay Malt Whisky Casks. The aging process infuses into the beer all the threatening smoke, the encapsulating peat, the Atlantic essence and raw power of Scotland’s most distinctive Whiskies.

33cl bottle @ home from Csak a Jó Sör, Budapest. Body is nearly black, Head is very small, creamy, brownish, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Nose is tons of rum / wine / whiskey whatever and chocolate, Aroma is cherry, dark chocolate, toast, molasses. Taste is heavy sweet, heavy roasty bitter, medium fruity sour. Finish is long lasting alcohol warmth, dark chocolate, cherry, heavy sweet and bitter. Full body, oily and sticky texture, soft carbonation. Excellent dessert beer, not as heavy as expected, very sweet still very enjoyable.

330ml bottle. Fantastic beer. Pours a dark cola colour. Aromas of chocolates and very startling tones of whiskey that are surprising at first but then build nicely to a smooth finish. Very bitter but not too bitter. Would recommend highly.

Consigliatissima.

Excellent beer for dessert, to go with strong black chocolate, salty butter caramel, vanilla ice cream...

33cl bottle at home. Dark brown with a medium off-white head. Full body with low carbonation. Well balanced sweet- and bitterness. Coffee, roasted malts, whiskey, brown sugar, spices, herbs and alcohol. An amazing full flavoured imperial stout.

Fantastica

Shared at my Summer Plunder Tasting by Brian. A dark cola pour with a syrupy dark chocolate molasses and alcohol heat aroma. Much more umami, much more mellow dark chocolate, rich vanilla and chocolate. Very very sweet dark malt goodness. One year old but still damn good. I enjoyed this one more than the Heaven Hill version it seemed sweeter.

Bottle, 33cl. Opaque dark brown with a minimal creamy tan head. Intense sweet, roasted aroma with strong hints of dried fruits, molasses and alcohol. Smooth and not quite as robust as I expected, with an oily texture and flat carbonation. Extra sweet, though with low bitterness. Very nice dry fruit and dark chocolate character, with a well masked alcoholic finish for 15%. Very pleasant and drinkable for a beer with such ABV, though a touch too sweet for me.
