Paradox Isle of Arran = Stout Aged in Isle of Arran Whisky Barrels - This Imperial stout has been matured in specially selected Islay Malt Whisky Casks. The aging process infuses into the beer all the threatening smoke, the encapsulating peat, the Atlantic essence and raw power of Scotland’s most distinctive Whiskies.

330ml bottle @ home. Ordered propably from Bierzwerg. Batch 060. BBE 15-03-23. Black stuff, tiny circle foam at the surface of glass. Tangy aroma, alcohol and whisky. Palate of alcohol but in the good way, burning breath, whisky notes very much too. Warming touch. I’m not whiskyfan, but this is accessible to me. Slighly different imperial stout. I like !

Black beer with whisky and wood aroma very present but easier to drink than expected for its 15% vol. The head brown and disappears leaving a good brown lacing. Good Imperial Stout

Dark ebony brown with Orange tan head. Sweet caramel, vanilla and booze on the nose which I recognise from the whisky. Sweet vanilla, umami, full bodied, medium carbonation. Quite alcoholic but well done. Very much shows second fill bourbon character, not the most complex of paradoxes but enjoyable anyway.

Fyllig kropp. Stor sötma, svag beska. Aningen torr munkänsla.

Almost black in appearance. Lots of sweet, whiskey malts in the aroma some roasted malt too. Thick, rich texture. Sweet fruitiness, warming whiskey heat and elements of cocoa and chocolate. Complex but delicious.

Bottle 330ml.

Clear dark dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, sweet malt, chocolate, vanilla. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, licorice, salty, salty licorice. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft - fizzy, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. Wow nice ... salty licorice and chocolate that works :D [20131024]

Het aroma komt voornamelijk van het vat, in de smaak komt daar een volle, mondvullende mout-zoetheid bij, die de smaakervaring gedenkwaardig maakt. Mooie complexe stout.
