COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Paradox Isle of Arran = Stout Aged in Isle of Arran Whisky Barrels - This Imperial stout has been matured in specially selected Islay Malt Whisky Casks. The aging process infuses into the beer all the threatening smoke, the encapsulating peat, the Atlantic essence and raw power of Scotland’s most distinctive Whiskies.

Bottle from Brewdog shop (AGM selection). Black color, brown head. Bittersweet taste with chocolate, coffee, peat, oak and roasted malts. Bitter finish with coffee and chocolate. Excellent imperial stout.

Bottle. Batch 016 and bottled on 08.08.08. Pours near black with a minuscule tan head that rings the rim of the glass. Aroma is caramel, cocoa, and some peat. Taste is sweet with mild smoke (appears to have faded a bit). Quite nice and drinkable. I’d gladly drink another.

this is retired? i have this in multiple years, and cant even find another version of it than the 10 ABV . weird.. anyway, my bottle states 10 abv , best before 19 - 08 - 2015 pours dark brown, off white head ( not too big ) that fades a bit . smell is realy oaty sharp carbonation . very oaty, bitter. hints of coffee. medium mouthfeel . whiskey in the very late aftertaste. more like the alcoholic part than anything else. not peated ( i feared for it as i hate peated )

Tap at Brew Dog, Camden. Pours pitch black with a short, creamy off white head. Aroma is vanilla, raisins, liquorice and whisky. Taste is really sweet, vanilla and chocolate mixed with a nice whisky warmth and malts. Thick, oily body but perfect in small doses.

Its been a while I had this one...and it was also cellar-ed for a long time. I had it with jimmythespoon and from what I remember, we agreed on most of the stuff about it. Only thing I will add, is that this kind of beers (super boozy) are not my style and I prefer to age them a bit.

I was given this bottle as a present over a year ago and decided to age it hoping that it would improve over time. The aroma is of smoke and whisky with vapours of warmth. The appearance is very dark and as near to black as you can get with a thin tan coloured head. Due to the high alcohol content the lacing on the glass is minimal. Taste is sweet vanilla, dark fruit, caramel and whisky again. The liquid laces your mouth, bites the back of your throat (in a good way) and leaves a satisfying warming feel as you swallow it. An excellent limited edition brew which should be sipped and enjoyed.

This very interesting stout wants better balance in effervescence and its deliciously deep whiskey and chocolate undertones. Wonderful whiskey and fulsom stout do balance, but underwhelm presented to the palate without carbonation. Batch was born on 08/08/08, so perhaps it's just a little long in the tooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cerveja que prova que escocês não é expert apenas em whisky, uma fantástica Imperial Stout que tem como grande marca o álcool presente e intenso, tomando conta do palato e do nariz, um calor de sabores inesquecível.

330 ml bottle - savoured at home in a sniffer - taken fom notes. Pours pitch black, flat, no head. Aromas of chocolate and some smoked whisky notes. Glavour is really balanced with the subtle peated character. Okay, but a tad overrated.
