Noire. Opaque. Presque pas de collet. Nez: alcool. Whisky. caramel. Sucre. Réglisse. Malt. Brûlé. Beurre. Rhum. Bois. Butter scotch. Bouche: très sucré. Chocolat. Fumé. Malté. Grain torréfié. Très Boisé. Liquoreuse. Alcool. Banane et cassonade cuite. Biscuit au pépite de chocolat. Whisky subtile mais présent. Une petite merveille de la nature.

This was a special gift of an Irish buddy returning from a visit with his friend who is a brewer in Scotland. This was shared at a drunken adult prom party. Absolutely beautiful. Black pour with no highlights. Nose is remarkably complex with deep roast malt, brown sugar alcohol, roses and oak. Stunning nose. Taste is exactly the same with sweet oaky booze. Vanilla and cherries and oak. Absolutely lovely.

As predicted, I’m wetting myself. Glad the Mayans got it all wrong so I can enjoy this. Cheers to the Bish for this gift, I owe the fella hugely for educating my palate and providing this joyous beer. This is big, beastly, dark as a nightmare and thrillingly good. I’m supping it watching Rare Export: A Christmas Tale. Perfect companions.

Bottle at BrewDog tasting at Hostinec Richtar Jakub. Black colored beer with medium light brown color. Roasted malt, whiskey, vanilla, oak in aroma. Taste, roasted malt, cocoa beans, raisins, oak, whiskey, peat. Burned wood, whiskey in finish.Lot of alcohol. Nice sipper, surprisingly not so sweet for me.

Amazing beer, taste is clearly licorice. Extremely well carbonated, and not at all cloying. Warming alcohol, and bitter towards the end - especially as it warmed up a bit.

Prodigious amount of alcohol balanced by real depth of flavour. Burnt treacle, coffee, dark chocolate, and warm notes of whisky all there. A wonderful drink to sip on a cold winter night.

A combination of my two favourite beverages - smokey whisky and sweet imperial stout with an umpf!

On tap at Brewdog Camden, London. Pours a pitch black colour with a medium light brown foam. Good lacing oN the side of the glass. Aroma is deep and comnplex. Wood, oak, smoke, whiskey, salt, toffee and roasted malts. Taste follows the nose with molassess, toffee, wood, roasted malts and smoke. Mouthfeel is full and creamy with soft carbonation. Not much in the direction of booze: good job BD. Overall, very nice and complex, with a smokey character so well balanced and blended that I’ve rarely seen.
