Pours dark black with a big tan head. Nose is chocolate, vanilla, whiskey and wood. Taste is sweet, then smokey with some bitter and finishes with bittersweet. Mouthfeel is silky smoove and has a very lively feel on the end. Big aftertaste and heavy body. Best paradox I've had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ CBC, 2012.
Pours completely black with a small, creamy, beige film head. Aroma has lots of sweet whiskey, oak, mild peity, liqourice and quite vinious. Medium carbonation, light and creamy mouthfeel - not as fat as feared. Flavour is fairly sharp vinious, light oaky, blackberries, roasted malts. Fairly sharp bitter vinious finish.

Vestergaard (27) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - MAY 19, 2012
Pitch black beer with creamy light brown head. Aroma is whisky and lots of chocolate. Smells really nice. I haven’t had the regular Paradox, but this one really tastes like wood and whisky. It’s rather sweet, and as the aroma promised, it contains lots of chocolate. It’s pretty creamy and soft despite the quite agressive taste. A little too much barrel-taste IMO, but good beer though.

Keg at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Lots of whisky character, but not as smoky as some of its brothers. Charcoal, tar, rich imperial stout underneath. A little alcohol shining through.

Bottle@Brewdog Camden, London. Pitch black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is whisky, slight roasted malts as well as liquorice and alcohol. Flavour is liquorice, alcohol, some sweet ripe fruits as well as some whisky notes. A bit too strong on the alcohol, otherwise nice.
