NOTE: Marked batch 005 on the bottle label. Matured in a Glen Moray 1992 cask although this is not detailed on the label.
This edition sees our Imperial Stout aged for several months in specially selected Speyside malt whisky casks. This maturation process results in the whisky flavours and aromas being infused deep into our beer.

330 ml bottle brought over by my Aberdeen friend, Bjorn! Dark brown with a small cinnamon tan head; nose of chocolate and oak; flavor of vanilla, chocolate, and some whiskey flavor! Way far the 3 or the 005, 008, and 009 we tried!

Thanks to fiver29 for sharing this bottle. Pitch black with tiny head. Looks like motor oil. Aroma is sweet chocolate, fruit and whisky. Sweet flavor with whisky being present, but not dominant. Full and slick texture. Not a bad brew.

Bottle pours a pitch black with a tan head. Smells like a malt chocolate whiskey beer. Tastes like whiskey with some dark roasted malted beer to it. Overall, I really enjoyed this brew because it has a really great aroma and flavor to it after I poured it.

Bottle and served in my Stone IRS snifter (tasted along side of the 8 & 9): Nearly opaque with a small tan head which left spotty lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of chocolate, charred malts, caramel, cereal, plum, molasses, and very light wood with a dash of oxidization. I was expecting some scotch and peat but they were nowhere to be found and the only hint of the nose of BA is the light wood. The taste starts slight fruity and twangy with a chocolate covered raisins and blueberries. Found some notes of espresso bitterness and chewy grains in midsection before heading towards a lightly oaked and tannic finish. The mouth feel is soft and rich but a tad too thin for the flavor profile. While it is a nice beer I was left disappointed by the lack of Speyside character on the palate or nose.

Black with a slight red highlight. The tiniest tan head. Aroma is dark fried fruit, toffee, chocolate, and a little smoke. Sweetish and hard roasted flavour, only a little spicy, alcoholic whisky character, and a touch of tannin in the finish. Clearly they have missed the carbonation on this one, which is a shame, because it’s got some good, promising beer character.

Bottle shared by mmtmatrix. Poured brown color with a thin beige head that fades to a ring. Aroma of hickory, light whiskey, some smoke, some chocolate and roast. Flavor of light chocolate leads into a smoky, lightly fruity maltiness, that continues into a smoky, lightly bitter finish. Smooth on the palate, light bitterness. Nice beer, the others would be interesting to try.
