NOTE: Marked batch 005 on the bottle label. Matured in a Glen Moray 1992 cask although this is not detailed on the label.

Ungstrup (30497) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2007
Cask at Blackfriars, Glasgow - had several pints of this over two days at RBESG 2007. Aged in Glen Moray casks. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet amlty with strong notes of roasted malt and whiskey. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol, whiskey, and roasted malt, as well as hints of smoke. I found it a bit sharp on the alcohol the first night, and much more mellow on the second - which made it very drinkable.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of Myrup. Pours a dark brown with a tint of red and a tiny, off-white head. Lightly sweet aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with sweetish, roasted malt - not particularly burned - with some hot whisky accents. Not peaty smoke, oak or vanilla - just hot, burning alcohol. Some malt bitterness in the finish. 291107

Cask at Blackfriars, Glasgow. Black, no head. Aroma of tar and licorice. Sweet and boldly malty with lots of substance. There’s chocolate and asphalt. The whisky is much less evident than in the other versions of Paradox that I’ve tried. It’s also more balanced. That however takes some of the curiousity away, so I’m not really sure if I prefer it more than those.

23rd August 2008. Strong but smooth whiskey dominates and produces a notably hot finish. The chocolate and coffee support all the whiskey very well. Unapologetically a whiskey beer!
