Awesome bourbon and coffee aroma. Tastes good with nice flavors of charred bourbon barrel, coffee, chocolate, and bourbon spice. Very nice, just wish it had a not more body/thickness.

Nose is full of of nice whisky, some cocoa, hints of coffe. Carbonation is low. Might be of old age. Palate is medium some whisky, coffe. Not a powerhouse in any way but still good. Would be more interesting fresh.

Bottled. Pours black with a small, tan head leaving a good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, whiskey and alcohol. Sweet flavor, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Full bodied, oily to syrupy texture and soft carbonation. A powerfull and excellent Impy. ★★★★

Bottle at home from backlog notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a thin beige film. The aroma and flavor have strong barrel character, but not as bad as the other treatments and I still get some of the character from the beer, roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruit, wood, scotch whiskey, more drinkable.

Blackcurrant and whisky on the nose. Caramel sweetness, woody, whisky , thin its does not linger as one would expect, good not great.

Last Bottle of the night at Craig’s - thanks again! Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of light peat whisky and spice. Taste is roast bitter and boozy. Finishes surprisingly short, but very glad to have tried it.

Darkest brown, gurning tan head. Twisty lightly peated head, neat and a wee bit plasticy. Earthy malt, spicey and peppery with the faintest scummy banana sweetness. Dried out, woody, spread out chipped oat. Wee bit airy finish, lacking the bite I’d hoped for.

Bottle, Black Friday Tasting, from the hallowed CGarvieUK cellar.

Shared a 12 ounce bottle of this. 2009 best by date. $12 for the bottle. Complex palate, but got a bit too much sweetness and starchiness with the age.

From a 33 cl bottle shared in Avon NC. Marked 005 06/06/09 on the bottle. Pours a deep cola brown with a scant head. Aroma of oak and whiskey. Flavors also include chocolate and licorice and a hint of leather. Quite complex. Low carbonation. Slight bitter finish. A complex and tasty brew.

Bottle from Charleston Beer Exchange. it pours black with a medium tan head. The nose is sweet vanilla, fudge, toffee, coffee, wood, light oxidised notes, toast, cocoa powder and earth. The taste is roasted malt, toast, sweet coffee, vanilla, toffee, some acidity, fudge, mild activity, earth, light alcohol warmth and decent bitterness with a dry, roasty finish. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Smooth and big wood character, yet quite mellow. Has agred rather gracefully.
