Bottle 33cl. @ home.
[ Trade by cgarvieuk ]. Clear medium brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, wood, peat - smoke, alcohol, medicine. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090206]

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, malt, caramel, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and whiskey, leading to a dry, bitter, and coffee finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours pitch black with a small, rough beige head. Hard roast nose with a little tar. Solid body, low carbonation, hard roast malt and some smoke. Malt astringent finish. 261010

33 cL bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is smoked and dark roasted malt. Dark roasted malty and wooden. Smooth roasted malty and light wooden whiskey. Smooth whiskey and wooden finish.

Reddish amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is slight smoked malts and some caramel malts as well as mild notes of chocolate. Flavour is sweet malts, alochol and some slight liquorice notes,

Bottle at Ungstrup. Dark brown coloured with a small beige head. Roasted aroma of caramel and dark chocolate with notes of whisky. Roasted flavour of dark chocolate, hops, liquorice and oak. Hoppy finish.

(11.2oz bottle, Batch 17, BB 31/03/11) Pours a brown body with a spare beige head. Aroma of peat, chocolate, roasted grain, and raisins. Flavor of some, chocolate, roasted malt, scotch, wood, and some ash with a dry finish.

33cl bottle from Oddbins on London Bridge. Love that shop. Ok, I’ve made no secret from the fact that I’d rather drink Rip Tide than a Paradox. Rip Tide is such a drinkable impy stout and you can see the base beer trying to get out. This though is surprisingly good. It enhances the base beer rather than completely taking it over. Good dark choc. Good vanilla and ice cream, like vanilla ice cream with a choc ripple. A little grainy/powdery somewhere. Good subtle whisky flavour there. Really drinkable. Makes you want to drink it again.

Cask. Minimal brown head atop black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, whisky/alcohol, some chocolate, wood, light smoke. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, whisky/vanilla, light smoke, roast. Full body, some stickiness, minimal carbonation.
