330ml bottle from Sainsburys Golden amber with a ring of white head; pineapple aroma; tangy bitter tropical fruit flavour with peach and pasion fruit predominating; warming and sharply bitter finish. Very smooth and mellow, an excellent easy-drinking well-balanced IPA.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The bottle contradicts itself saying its both an IPA and a Pale Ale. Thatís fitting because its a bit of both. Has the hop taste of an IPA but refresing like a pale ale. Some nice pine and fruit taste in there too. Good beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A fruity almost exotic aroma, poured from bottle a slightly hazy gold with a light head which persisted although thinned out. Tastes hoppy, pleasant bitterness, floral, with clove-like spicy hints. Presents an attractive contrast between its aroma and its taste. One to try and return to again.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 22, 2012 In short: A nice semi-dry pale fruity/piney IPA.
How: Bottle 330ml at Finnegans, Bergen Norway
The look: Moderately cloudy pale blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Pleasant strong hoppy nose showcasing bright notes of fresh clementines, pine tree and some exotic fruits. Taste is full of doughy mixture of pale malts and yeast, dried fruits, fresh grapefruits, pine tree sawdust. A bit sandy. This finish is half-bitter half-dry. Remains refreshing despite the relatively nourishing body. Very nice IPA. And today (march 11) marks my 7th year anniversary on ratebeer!!! Has anything happened since 2005? Iíve been kind of busy with this rating beers thing.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The 6.0 % version of Punk IPA was one of the first IPAs I tried, and that was a pleasant experience, although it felt a bit thin and the flavour was somewhat one dimensional in its grapefruitness. Can a scaled down version, both in regards of alcohol and IBU, be any better? The body is beautiful hazy orange with a quite large, frothy, off-white head. The head rather quickly reduces to an irregular distribution of patches of foam, filmy remnants and big bubbles clinging to the walls, but at least these remnants are fully lasting. The aroma is absolutely stunning, extremely sweet fruity with peach, pineapple, mango, sweetish grapefruit and hints of strawberries. The taste is light to moderate sweet, and the bitterness is moderate plus, long fruity bitter finish. Perfectly balanced, itís more mellow and gentle than the 6.0 % version, as far as I can recall. The flavours on the other hand are much more intense in this version: very fruity, again peach, grapefruit, mango and pineapple. Pleasant mouthfeel, smooth texture, medium carbonation and the body feels fuller than the 6.0 % version. All this in a mere 5.6 % ale? Thatís clever brewing!
