4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Elfo’s Pub, Perugia, Italy. Pours with a dark yellow color, with a quite large, white, frothy, medium to long lasting head. Aroma has lots of citrus, especially grapefruit and lemon; and grass, too. Moderate to heavy hoppy. Quite bitter, even if it is slightly sweet, too. Average lasting, bitter finish. Medium body, medium carbonation.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Head is quickly gone, colour is somewhere between yellow and amber. Carbonization gives a vibrant mouth-feeling to the tropical fruity flavours and exotic hops. Highly enjoyable beer for the summertime.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Punk IPA pours a cloudy apple juice amber with a thin head of small bubbles. Nose is strong hops, primarily of cedar and pine needles. Taste is same of the nose, pine needles and a bit of an acrid tang that is reminsicent of grapefruit. Body is fizzy. finish is long, but pleasant as hops slowly fade. Nice beer.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Light yellow, mid foggy. Little white head. Aroma is strongly fruity with a distinct piny flavor.
Aroma is really strong from the start on. Pine, fruit, citrus. Lingering bitter hoppy aftertaste. Rather strong carbonation. Some alcohol creeps through. A really good solid IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle. Amber with small head. This bottle is definitely past its prime, but I’m not holding that against this beer -- still quite tasty. Substantial malt base with plenty of hops. Well balanced.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Marcus. Pours translucent golden amber with a creamy white head. Aroma has a mix, but there seems to be a lot of NS grapeiness. Med body. Flavor is fruity, even tropical, with white grape and a low key caramel backbone. Finishes fresh, fruity and definitely bitter.

33cl cans and bottles over 2 month period, BB 14/01/2014. Finally getting down to rating this leaner supermarket/party version of the pioneering UK IPA 2.0 that impressed me in its original 6% guise. Both aroma and taste are earthier than I had this down as, while still keeping the floral notes and subdominant pungent simcoe. Could it be the delicate exotic (lychee, maracuja) overtones disappeared with the Motueka? Leaner, almost crisp mf for an ale. Lingering layered bitter aftertaste. Remains a great party proselytiser for the unconverted...
