COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and keg: Filtered. Cask: Unfiltered.
Ingredients: Marris Otter Extra Pale Malt; Chinook, Crystal, Motoeka hops. IBUs 65
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

NOTE: The recipe was changed at the end of 2009, and this version is no longer made, if you have a bottle with a BBD after 1.1.12, you should go to the "Punk IPA (5.4%)" version.

I will miss this beer. Fascinating palate. Plenty of herbs and grass on the nose, becomes warm and bitter on the finish. Plenty of fruit in the middle. RIP, Punk.

Initial whiff of candyish, pear-drops and ’starburst’ fruit lollies on the nose, a lot of sweet toasted malt then shines through with some tart honeydew and lychee - overall not very well pronounced. It’s misty in the glass, I pick up one maybe two bubbles rising every five seconds, it is almost still. Headless bar a residual white layer of bubbles, the body a sunny orange amber. Big hops kick it off from the get-go in the mouth, raspy, weedy, floral and mildly spicy but all importantly bitter. A little strawberry bubblegum is first to linger, some passionfruit and pineapple mix with the resinous piney swallow. Bitterness remains but the aftertaste is quite short-lived. The body is medium and it’s soft in feel with a light prickle of carbonation carrying it. A little grain comes through more as an accessory but balances it well. This is a great session beer. Before I knew it rating this I needed a refill. Nicely crafted and balanced, and not that aggressive! Easy drinking! (33cL, batch 335, BB 21/12/10, The Beer Store Morley)

On tap at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà last year, It is an alive memory in my mind because of its taste. Very clear color, and a little bit hoppy smelling it. Of course the hop taste is more noticeable as you drink it. Head not too much persistent, with fruity notes and a little bit bitter. Excellent.

Hazy cider pour with big foamy off-white head. Sweet fruity hop aroma. Flavor is crisp refreshing hops (saaz?). Quite bitter but not stupidly bitter, with some sweet fruit to balance. The foam on top is pure bitter, however, with a texture like whipped cream. Dry, clean finish.

Crystal clear honey in color along with a soapy looking head. Aroma is kinda hard to place; weak orange pith. Flavor is not a sweet citrus as in other IPAs I’ve tried. It’s kind of a bitter mint flavor that’s dry and astringent. Overall this was an old bottle that needs be rerated.

Hazy light golden pour with a big fluffy white head. Thick, stuck around nicely. Aroma was light citrus, some earthiness, maybe a bit of vanilla, some pale malts too. Flavors were mildly hoppy, mostly malt forward in the best way, lingering bitter finish. Light citrus hangs around after each sip. This is one of the most drinkable/refreshing IPAs I have come across. Nicely done.

En god øl. Med denne iPa får du en fornuftig all round iPa. Dejligt humlet, skøn tør smag og en afdæmpet efter smag. For humle elskere kunne den godt have fået en håndfuld mere. Et godt produkt.

Pours light golden with medium head. Very hoppy aroma. Quite bitter; flavourful and refreshing. A very nice IPA, which I enjoyed with an Indian chicken dish.

Tasted 2010-12-29. Pours straw-yellow, foggy with white head. Aroma is hoppy, hayish, fresh pine. Taste is heavily bitter. The bitterness dominates a bit too much.
