COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and keg: Filtered. Cask: Unfiltered.
Ingredients: Marris Otter Extra Pale Malt; Chinook, Crystal, Motoeka hops. IBUs 65
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

NOTE: The recipe was changed at the end of 2009, and this version is no longer made, if you have a bottle with a BBD after 1.1.12, you should go to the "Punk IPA (5.4%)" version.

Bottle 33 cl. Weak aroma that reminds lager-style: some kiwi and citric, but almost quite hoppy. Totally filtered burning yellow texture that back up the lager-style impression; flat taste, spicy (oregano) but nothing more. Bitter and astringent not-so-long finish. Were my bottle taint? Unfortunately, for now I have to give a low rating.

Very hoppy, full coloured, carbonated, hints of spices. I’ll take a pint of this any day! Actually, I do...

Hazy yellow - almost no head. Aroma seems malty with some light fruit smell, but the taste is very beer with plenty of hops. The finish is rather clean for an IPA.

bottle, very nice hoppy aroma, golden, clear, white foam, medium sweetness, very bitter, full body, slick feel, average carbonation, bitter, long finish, very botter beer very good

hay, citrus, herbs, cough drop, nice hoppy smell and the taste is also sufficiently hopped with some pine, but the feel is way too weak and watery for me

Wasn’t too impressed with this one. I wanted to like it and I did kind of like the mouthfeel until I swallowed. It had a sickly astringent bite to it, finish was a bit of an overkill. I think I like big hop presence in a beer’s aroma, but this just felt too clean. Hmm. I’m going to try not to take it too personally that my palate isn’t as refined as the label’s jokingly arrogance attesting to the beer’s excellence.

Bottled from Burg Bieren, Ermelo. Clear golden colored, white head. Strong hoppy, nose, grassy, grapefruit, very nice. Hopbitter flavor, pine, fruity notes, lasting bitter finish. Nice IPA.

Batch - 482 BBD - 14/01/11 Sits pretty in the glass, with its luminous orange body and its creamy head weeping forth all over the glass walls. The aroma is a bit soapy with some pine. The flavor is kind of astringent rather than pleasingly bitter. Again, it reminds me very much of soap. Its not horrible, the palate and the appearance are both mighty fine, but this astringent soapiness is just not doing it for me.

Well, to be honest, I drank this beer a while ago, thought I rated it, but as it turns out, i forgot. So my notes are more so from memory. It pours golden yellow with a white cap that didn’t stick around to to long. The aroma is strong resinous hops, floral and fruity citrus notes. The flavour pretty much reflects that, a strong hoppy citrus bites, with lingering tropical fruit notes, similar to rogue’s yellow snow ipa. Finish is a touch soapy, but it’s not too in your face. All and all a very decent IPA but there are many other superior IPA’s which i would purchase over this.

12oz bottle from Andersons in Toledo. Cloudy yellow pour with a sturdy off-white head and a sheet of lace. Yeast, berries and citrus hops in the pleasant aroma. Taste is lemony pine bitter with some caramel. Texture is creamy medium. Citrus rind in the harsh finish. Strange one.
