COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and keg: Filtered. Cask: Unfiltered.
Ingredients: Marris Otter Extra Pale Malt; Chinook, Crystal, Motoeka hops. IBUs 65
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

NOTE: The recipe was changed at the end of 2009, and this version is no longer made, if you have a bottle with a BBD after 1.1.12, you should go to the "Punk IPA (5.4%)" version.

This is an interesting IPA. The aroma is grainy an grassy. The flavor is bitter, but much more along the lines of an English bitter that a face smacking IPA. This is not a ba thing neccesarily, just a bit different than my expectation from an IPA. Carbonation is restrained to the point of being low. A good beer, but not one I will look for again.

arancio carico, con una schiuma chiara e duratura, il malto nell’aroma è predominante, con note di cedro. al palato ha note biscottate, luppolosa, l’alcool non predomina. amaro il retrogusto. corpo medio, un pò troppo frizzante.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2010 Innocent looking beer in a 330ml bottle. Pale, clear with foamy head. Quite bubbly and lively giving a fruity aroma. Lovely malt taste with enormous bitterness. Very enjoyable and memorable. However, a bit like licking someone’s armpit. A rebel. Very memorable. Makes you think they made a mistake and added far too many hops then thought of an appropriate name for it. Don’t know if I’d rush to open a second bottle straight away.

Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JAN 25, 2010
Bottle consumed the day after it hit the Orlando market, so I’m assuming it’s as fresh as we can get it. The pour yields a hazy to cloudy, glowing, golden-orange-amber colored body. A frothy head resembles whipped, bubbly egg whites, holding pretty strong as it leaves thick cobwebs of lacing all over the glass. The aroma is sweeter than I’d like, showing heavy on biscuit and toffee, with hints of golden raisin in the malt base. Orange blossoms and bright lemon add ample hop aromatics, though it certainly smells as though it will be malt dominant. Flavors are a little better than expected, with a nice, citrusy, grassy hop bite countering the doughy, biscuity, sweet toffee malt. Sweetness fades on the finish as sticky, bitter resins emerge and linger. The palate is medium bodied, with a good deal of that stemming from residual sugar. Moderate, fine carbonation ushers in a drying, bitter finish. Solid brew. Definitely good for a Euro style IPA.

Bottle. A light sweet aroma, light fruity (perfume?), also some hops. The small white fizzy head disappears fast, the cloudy body is orange. The taste is very bitter, light fruity, the finish is very medical but still nice. The body is medium strong, dry and creamy with a soft carbonation.

Slight hazy, golden pour with instantly dissipating head. Light nasty, almost sweaty aroma lurking around. Bitter, bad fruit flavour. Long bitter after taste. Grows on you quickly.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2010 333ml bott. batch 330 BB1Nov11from the supermarket. Bold golden colour. Straight from the fridge but in a warm British glass. Marvellous citrusy nose, not too perfumed, just hoppy and with a high note that’s not too fruity. Great mouthfeel, swett’n’bitter right to the back of the palate. It’s still the very best of BrewDog’s most consumer-oriented creations in a bottle.

Lime and tea nose. Shimmering amber, thin white head, good lacing. Medium bodied, resinous, and pefumey. Harshly bitter celery and clover finish. There is a nice filling maltiness, but overly bitter and resinous.

This is an ever-present in my fridge. I love that I can buy it easily and sate a hop craving whenever I need to. Pale, light grain, big citrusy hops, tropical, dry, bitter. A good fun beer, perfect cold straight from the bottle.

How could I not buy this? Pale hazy gold pour with lots of head. Odd cleaning product like smell. Lemonly. Cleaning product like taste. Not wait I know what that is, grapefruit. I hate grapefruit and this beer really tastes like grapefruit. I ended up passing this one on.
