4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - DEC 30, 2009
Fruity aroma with grass, sweet yeast and apples. Brilliantly clear golden color with a frothy head. Oh wow! Nice fruity flavor - apricots and strawberries at the forefront - with a follow-through of bitterness at the swallow. Light and easily quaffed. All nicely complemented by a dry huskiness of European floor malts. This is truly outstanding!

A fruity aroma with hops & lychee predominant. This beer looks like it might be a bit lightweight...however, as it goes down, this beer starts to punch it’s weight. and become’s a champion that is not easily forgotten or gotten over in a hurry.
The bitterness stays on the palate for ages and the hoppiness gets better and better.

Tried on bottle. Nice pale golden colour with a white head. Aroma is fruity and citrusy. Taste is very aggressive and very bitter, leaves the mouth quite dry. Carbonation is excellent, recommended.

Αn amazing beer. Great aromas and taste. The best IPA so far, only the newer version of it is better. I still love this one though.

Possibly my favourite IPA of all time. Packs quite a kick! But there is no mistaking it for any other IPA.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2011 2011-02-01, bottle, batch 428, bb 29-12-11, fresh, 8-5-9-5-17=44 Beautiful bright amber color, with creamy head. Very nice hop aroma, citrusy, with bergamot, grass. The body is strong, with a round mouthfeel; strong flavor of toffee; strong bitterness, with piney and citrusy hops, very resiny, but at the same time smooth as well. One of the nicest IPA experiences from the shelf.
2010-04-21, bottle, batch 001, bb June 2009, can this be 2 years old? 7-5-7-4-16=39 Hazy golden color; medium sized creamy head; nice lace. The aroma is not too strong; there are hops, chamomile, magnesia, light citrus fruits, grass, and something that reminds me the kitchen of a Chinese friend. It’s quite smooth and rounder to drink, the carbonation is soft; the toffee flavor and malt is dry, with a strong bitterness, still; most of the aromatic components are gone, there are still resins, citrus fruits and light chamomile. Still pleasant.
2009-09-25, draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen, 9-5-8-5-18=45 Hazy golden color, with medium rocky head. It has a strong grassy and earthy hop aroma, some manure, light fruity hops, light aroma of breadcrumbs too. Good mouthfeel, good malt flavor, light residual sweetness; earthy hops, giving a strong bitterness and some resins too. Quite different from the bottle, smoother, rounder, maltier, less green. On tap it’s a great beer!
2008-04-12, bottle, 8-3-8-5-16=40 Blond color, with a grey-greenish hue like a white wine. It has a very nice aroma: delicate hop, fruity (white grapes), Saaz perfume, and light crispy malt. It has a very good crispy malt flavor, dry, with a hint of cookies, and a very strong bitterness, quality hopping. Excellent.
