A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

NOTE: The recipe was changed at the end of 2009, and this version is no longer made, if you have a bottle with a BBD after 1.1.12, you should go to the "Punk IPA (5.4%)" version.

Bottle. Pour was light golden with a white smooth head. Aroma was of tropical fruit and some slight oxidation. Flavor was very bitter, but in a pine tree sort of way. I loved the American bitterness imparted on this Scottish brew, but the bitterness was quite harsh, whereas many other IPAs I’ve had kept the smooth bitterness accompanying the nice malt characters. This could be a great beer if the bitterness could be much smoother.

Brewpuppy, why did you forsake us? This beer was superb, a true 6% session beer. You claim to be about the beer, so why dumb it down?? 6% hidden extremely well behind a crisp bitter edge and big tropical and citrus fruit flavours. a rare example of a really good IPA, all hop, no toffee, no booze, no biscuit!

I somehow really love this IPA. It’s texture is nice and thick with a fruity aroma. Very refreshing with a great after taste.

had issues here with new brewdog beers showing up old, though they were new to us. this seems to be one of them. not much going on here besides malt and bitter, meh...

It’s my favourite beer of BrewDog. Its citric aroma provides it of freshness.

Dirty hazy light blonde. Hop sweet jam and Skunky nose. Neat sweet gummy citrus. Biting and spirited light malt. Finishes itchy and cooling. I prefer the popping citra nose in the new version but I can still get off on the bite here so hopefully memory-banked this accordingly score-wise.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours cloudy lemon yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of skunky hops. Taste is bitter, watery. Thin texture, thin body. bitter finish, thanks again Craig for a beer I didn’t think I’d see again!

Bottle. I didn’t know what to make of this beer, it didn’t have the hoppness I was expecting. Nice, but just unusual.

Ik ben sowieso al geen te grote fan van IPA en dit was echt een van de slechtste die ik al geprobeerd heb.
