3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Oakrock (69) - Helsinki, - FEB 16, 2013Quite extraordinary beer. Very strange taste map with slight bitterness and violet flower flavour. I am not really sure do I like very much of this product or do I dislike - I think I like.

Cask Handpump at the Blackfriars JDW, Glasgow 01/12/2007
Fruity and hoppy whisky aroma. Golden coloured strong in alcohol and hoppy with a crisp and slightly bitter dry finish.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DougShoemaker (3148) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 1, 2009
Aroma has smoke, wood and ink. Light golden, small white head. Taste is a prominant malt, smoke and peat. Full bodied, strong alcohol noted but appreciated. Quite a beast!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 HogTownHarry (5705) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2009
Bottle (330ml). Looks like the regular punk - pale hazy amber, average off-white head. Intense aroma of woodsmoke, iodine, sulfur and overtones of orange peel, and after the Islay character had burned off a tad, sotening notes of clover and honey. The taste followed right on - all the Islay notes, smoke for sure, not much bitterness until the finish. Slick on the tongue, not carbonated at all, quite astringent (as you’d expect) - I really liked it, but then I like a good Speyside malt ... *** I was confused by the fact MY rating was from a clearly-labelled commercial bottle of Punk/Speyside, and the fact that the previous 4 ratings were all cask-only combined with the word "Cask" in this entry, but evidently BrewDog beers do not have cask/non-cask splits. So here it lies.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 chimplechamp (601) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 2, 2008
cask blackfriars. after missing all of the glorious beers at the gathering, i was lucky enough to sample this bit o heaven. aroma was very similiar to the punk ipa, however it also was tinged with sweetness. explosive tastes of hops, citrus, grass, and earth with a great helping of oakyness. not much alcohol in the taste but after a couple of pints you could definately feel it. very friggin good.

Cask (Thanks to Magic_Dave6): Poured a coppery amber with a light white head. The aroma is Fruit with a very hoppy nose tingling smell. The taste is hoppy and acidic on my tongue, very impressive. Finish is a dry bitter, but pleasant as well! What a first night in Glasgow....Karl even likes it.

Cask in Blackfriars. Aroma is typicaly brewdog, grassy cat piss, sweet gariny pale malt, but with a extra sweetness. Taste is similar but with a rounded earthyness from the whisky, the dry grassy hop character doesnt fully go well with the very subtle whisky notes, but nice all the same.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cgarvieuk (11109) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 25, 2007
cask Aberdeen Beer festival 07 ... Golden orange ... light whiskey nose ... The same sharp tart grapefruit as Punk IPA but i found the tones of clearly identifable whiskey clashed rather than complemented. Still its nice to see the Brewers continuing there experimentation.
