beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Nov 8, 2009 22.4 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a thin, sloppy white head that disappeared after the first sip and left no lace. Pleasant aroma of citrus along with a bit of caramel. The flavor is weak malt followed by a strong dose of grapefruit pith bitterness that generally lacks much flavor. This is just bitterness for bitterness sake and really doesn’t do much for me. With so many IPA’s out there, this is certainly one that I would easily pass on. kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 5, 2009 Bottle from Whole Foods (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy dark yellow color with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of citrus, grapefruit, spice, honey, caramel, light pine. Flavor is initially light then turns to a medium to very bitter hoppiness. Notes of citrus, honey, caramel. Generally light to medium body with a bitter finish. Nephilium (541), Ohio, USA Oct 31, 2009 Nice citrus hop aroma, with a touch of sweetness behind it. Pours a clear light amber, with about half an inch of craggy white head. On the flavor side, the initial taste is a bit disappointing, a touch of citrus, then bitterness. It has a moderate mouthfeel, and the long bitter finish is fantastic. Overall, something to try, but there are better IPA’s out there. drseusszb200 (183), Florida, USA Oct 28, 2009 poured amber with little head that faded quickly with good lacing. smelled rather plain. tasted like hay and hops. nice hop aftertaste. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 26, 2009 Sampled form a 22.4 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy golden color with a large soapy yellow-white head. The aroma was sour, tangy and fruity hops. The flavor was sweet pineapple, pine and light notes of caramel and lemon. Sugary. Fairly full bodied. The finish was long with tart pineapple and lemon. Good. rae1984 (9), Rome, Italy does not count Oct 26, 2009 Bottle: a clear golden-orange body. Aroma is hoppy and the flavor is bitter and the carbonation is soft. This is very drinkable and a very bilanced beer. Really, a fantastic punk beer for punk. :) BückDich (4785), McCall, Idaho, USA Oct 23, 2009 Bottle: Pours a cloudy orange color with nice head and lacing. The nose is ripe with citrus hops a little pine character. Light pale malts and a solid body pair with the chewy fruity hops very nicely. Ample balance and sweetness, nice bright hops and a plethora of other delicacies. An on par IPA for the PNW, but for Scotland, it’s bloody delightful. Birdiebeagle (777), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2009 Bottle Pours a lightly hazy straw with a good white head. The head lasts well and makes some spotty lacing. The aroma is hoppy with sweet and sour mix. some floral and grass. Has a lighter carbonation. The flavor is okay. Some spiciness. And good bitters. Has a watery texture. The finish is on the light side and the aftertaste is okay. Doesn’t pack the punch I was hoping for but not a bad beer.
