Commercial Description:
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

Pours a deep gold. Some cheesey hop notes and old caramel. Dusty smelling. Fairly thin bodied, light stinky floral hops. Nothing Special.

Thanks jdubfl for the share. Pours clear orange with and off-white head. Nose and flavor are caramel, some citrus hops, and a bit of pine to it. It is interesting, but not my favorite IPA.

My last encounter with BrewDog was with a few of their imperial stouts. Fantastic beers. This one was an okay showing but I think there was room for improvement. The beer pours a hazy yellow color, smallish 1" head even with a semi-agressive pour with some nice lacing. Aroma is grapefruity, some wet earth, and soft malt tones. The hop flavor ramps up immediatley on the first sip and kinda tramples on the malts a bit. Citrus was the dominant flavor with some spruce tips, apricots and caramel malts clocking in. Decent IPA, but overpriced unfortunately.

Bottle, courtesy jdubfl. Clear hazy, cloudy straw colored pour, with a bubbly head and a spattering of lacing on the glass. Nose is funky apples, with caramel, some vanilla, and some dark bright fruits. Flavor has some hops, dry fruit, hair, some rubber, and sticky caramel in the finish. Medium-bodied, odd and not so drinkable. Not so sure about this one.

It pours out of the bottle a "piss" yellow??? w/a little head that has minimal lacing. I can smell a little of the hops, but almost a, and I hate to say this I just don’t know any other way to put it and it is not to be taken in a bad way, skunky taint. It did not effect the flavor and maybe it is just something that I was not used to as I don’t usually drink IPA’s from anywhere but the states. It does not have the normal pine/spruce bite that I’ve come to expect from an American IPA. I’m probably rating this low and not giving it it’s fair share as I am partial to the American IPA’s. It is an alright beer and it is a lot better for you, and to drink than the mass produced swill that is out there, but I’m just biased when it comes to IPA.

330 ml bottle. Finland. Batch 089. Hazy pale orange colour with thin off-white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma. Lemony, yeasty, hoppy flavour with bitter finish.
