Commercial Description:
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

On tap - pours a golden yellow. A nice, well-balanced IPA with citrus and grass flavours. Very drinkable and solid, but there are better IPAs.

A nice, balanced IPA with moderate cirtus and grassy aromas and flavors. Easy to drink, quite average IPA, but still has a pretty good overall flavor.

Bottle. Pours a nice amber with a thin white head, good lacing. Aroma is grassy hops and sweet malts. Notes of floral hops, citrus, and a bit of pine stand out. On the palate it is a little light. The flavor brings out the citrus (grapefruit) and it finishes nice and bitter. A good, well balanced IPA.

On tap, golden pale body with a thin tight pure white head. Looks almost muted. The nose is very clean and mild with some citrus notes and light sweet malts. The Flavor is understated with decent hoppy bitterness that leans more towards grassy rather than piney. Nice dry finish, really a well rounded brew.

Taster@San Diego Festival of Beers: Hazy golden color with a small white head. Aroma is light citrus and pine. Flavor starts with a sharp grapefruit bitterness followed by a little tropical fruit and a sharp, dry orange rind finish. Light body, lively carbonation.

Pours a hazy copper body with golden edges and a luscious ivory head. The aroma is spicy, peppery, hints of cedar wood. Suggestions of ripened red apple, black pepper corns, wet straw, grapefruit zest, pineapple, and apricots. I really dig this beer!! It is a wonderful change from the American IPA; I have become exceedingly accustom too. Hints of a sour dough bread yeast, and some rye spicyness… Do they use rye in this beer? A wonderful caramel malt and spicy bitter finish… A rather memorable brew for me!

This is ok, but one-dimensional and overly bitter. It’s slightly cloudy dark gold with a mdeum off-white head that slowly thins to a thin foam and a little weak lace. The aroms is feremented pear and apple with a little grain, lemon, grapefruit and yeast. The flavour is spicey-bitter lemon and grapefruit with a lightly fruity-doughy sweetness, sone yeast. The sharp, astringent bitterness, spicey and citrusy, sooon runs amok and dominates the character, making it a little sharp and rough while being somewhat bland.
