Commercial Description:
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

Bottle: Really pale one, nice white head with large bubbles. Smells intensely hoppy with a lemony feel. Outrageously hoppy, it treads the line almost at overboard. Such a bite to this, really tasty and feels great in the mouth though.

Did not plan to have another brew tonight, but with the site back open to me I feel obliged. LIght hazed golden color with a island looking lid with some islands on the rim and some bigger bubbles adrift in the middle. Real English aroma with Golden Promise or Marris Otter coming to mind. Some aged hops as well, with hopsack scent prevalent. Some fruit, floral and yeasty scents are also quite noticeable. Somewhat dull feel in that there is not much life, acts more like a cask ale (not sure if good or bad). Mild honey and big english malt flavors. Just read the bottle and not really understanding the post modern classic inference. Middle has a rather biting hops bitterness with a weed/herbal component that carries well into the linger. Finish is dry and only a slight bit of fruitiness. Seems quite traditional to me.

Hazy lemon-yellow brew with a very small soapy head. Medicinal flavor definitely detracts from this one. Not sure if the guy writing the description ever actually tasted this one. "lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry"...WHAT!!! Wish I had an opportunity to drink what he drank or smoke what he smoked!!! Aroma is subtle pine and flavor possesses bitterness but without balance. Avoid.

Bottle. Both looks and tastes like grape fruit soda. Orange colour. Small head. Anonymous aroma. Some yeast and citrus hops. The flavor is frutiy. Lots of orange and grape! Also some caramel. Too bad that the aftertaste is rather strange, it tastes artifical in some way. Thin body. I could drink a cople of this a night. It’s easy to drink, maybe even to easy to drink...? I love this beer even though the total score is kind of low.

Poured a slightly hazy golden body with a near non-existent, off white head. Aromas are exceptionally fruit driven, with passionfruit, lychee (i suspect some kiwi hops) and a bit of an earthy grain character. Palate shows more of the same, a load of tropical fruit comes through before some slight sweet malt and long lingering bitterness. Palate is perhaps a touch thin for the degree of bitterness, it seems a tad astringent. Still, quite drinkable!

From bottle. DLM Friday tasting. Pours hazy orange. Aromas of citrus and hops. Smooth flavors make this very drinkable.
