golubj (1275), Sunnyvale, California, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Pale yellow pour with some white head. Aroma is some fruit, pale malt, and earthy bittering hops. Flavor is similar, grainy pale malt, a little sweet, and somewhat peppery earthy hops in the back. A little grassy in the finish. This bottle might not be super fresh, and maybe that’s why the hops seem a little subdued. Theis (3617), Denmark Aug 27, 2008 Bottle at Ølbaren. Clear amber - white head. Abrico, grape, peppery, nice fruity hoppy, caramel, sweetness, pineapples, grassy, fruity, spicyness. Nice. Scauca (408), Lovere, Italy Aug 26, 2008 Golden with a nice white head. Quite weird appearance for an IPA. British hop profile, flowery, bit of spices and some earthiness. Not that bitter but quite hoppy. AndrewC (70), Canterbury, Kent, England Aug 25, 2008 Smells great - lovely flowery citrus hops. The spicy orange flavours on the tip of the tongue are great too. But the swallow reminds me of a biology experiment we did at school where we swilled around dilute hydrochloric acid so we could experience what bitterness tasted like. Nah, this beer’s not for me. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours brilliant deep gold with white head. The aroma is nice bold hoppiness with a combination of citrus, some spice and a backbone of mildly roasted malts. The taste has a solid malty sweet pulse to start that gets run over by the hops but yet persists all the way to the finish. The hops pick up quickly with bitter grapefruit, some grassiness and pine. The hops grow into the finish. This IPA is a bit on the malty side but has a tasty bitter hoppiness through and through. Madsnp (611), Odense C, Denmark Aug 24, 2008 Bottle. Hazy light orange colour with a small white head. Aromas of pine, caramel, soapy citrus and malt. Flavour of sweet malts, fruit and bitter hops. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Aug 20, 2008 It’s slightly hazy, warm golden with practically no head. The aroma has notes of malt, citrus and fruit. The flavour is nice and hoppy with notes of spruce, citrus and fruit. It’s pleasant with a light caramel sweetness and a suitable bitterness. JustinBathurst (134), Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada Aug 19, 2008 Poured really pale straw, looking watered-down. No head despite a hard pour.
Smelled like Swedish dishsoap, some floral hops, little else.
Mouthfeel is slick, with lower than average carbonation.
Taste is watered-down, but extremely astringent--like chewing tylenol.
Despite the junky text on the side claiming that they both want to hear what I think and also don’t care if I like this beer, I didn’t enjoy anything beyond the label design. This is not punk, this is not IPA. This is great marketing and bad beer.
