Commercial Description:
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

Bit hazy, pale orange color with very small head. Aroma is malty, slighlty flowery and grassy hoppy. Flavor is sweet malty, a bit caramel malty and much woody and grassy hoppy. Medium-bodied and low carbonated palate.

650, capped. Pours a hazy medium golden amber with a loose, thin white head. Bubbly lacing for a while. Fairly biscuity, slightly sweet caramel nose, with bits of butter in there as well...are they not covering the kettle at BrewDog, or what? Smells nice enough, like that creamy buttery note is almost kinda meant to be there, but, still. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Has a nicely balanced mild pine to the mid-palate, riding some buttery biscuit. Great name, great label, pretty solid little recipe, but they gotta nail the QA bit if they’re gonna sell me $12 650s lo these thousands of miles from home. I’ll finish it on financial principle but I won’t be back on this or the double until rumor has the butter put to bed for good.

Bottle, 6%. The aroma has a rough hoppiness, almost lagery. Caramelly and hoppy flavour. There is a good citric hop flavour, though it gets a little acidic.

Wild, fun exotic citrus aroma. Rindy bitterness with juicy exotic fruit hop flavors. Body is medium light and dryness enhances bitterness/hop perception. This is fun stuff.

22.4 oz capped bottle, marked batch 001, best by 01/01.09. Label has a weak, Arrogant Bastard -like soliloquy that just isn’t amusing. Clear straw with a big white head that descends rapidly. Rather sweet, blonde-like nose, odd citrusy tang. Drippy white lace. Interesting flavor - bitter, for sure, a bit of funky citrus, dry, white pepper, pale malt. Citrus rind finish. Not bad, but I feel boned at $14.

Sitting here drinking this as I enter past compiled ratings of a lot of crappy beer from the past. This pours a hazy light orange coloring with what starts off as no head, and then bubbles up into a small white head, and then quickly dissipates into a little string of foam along the sides of the glass. Earthy minerality, with some soapy citrus hoppiness and a touch of caramel and pine. Very soft and bitter without a lot of carbonation, semi-sweet cookie dough maltiness comes through in the background, with a well balanced flavor and well lingering bitterness. This is a well balanced hybrid APA, but not quite upto an IPA. I am still very much enjoying it as a well done, well balanced pale ale.

pours a cloudy light orange with a tint of brown, small white head that quickly goes away, good lacing.
smell is faint, earthy, malt, touch of caramel, sweetness in the back, some citrus.
taste is smooth yet watery, citrus, some pine, some caramel, a little bitterness in the end, as it warms becomes more bitter and has a thicker mouthfeel and stronger taste.

Small white head, fair retention and some stringy lace clinging for dear life. Clear, seriously pale straw color. Light nose of straw, faint citrus and pale malts. Body is light, crisp (man i hate using that descriptor but if it fits,,,) lightly oily and acidic. Dry pale maltiness backed by some thin watery hoppiness, faint citrus and honey notes. Dry, overly bitter, unbalanced finish. Slightly perfect? Umm,,,, NO. Bottle procured @statelineliquors.
