Commercial Description:
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

Smells like a pair of patent louboutins after a tragic night out! quite skunky, heavy on the vomit, leather and plastic... but not in a bad way. straw yellow in colour, white rim. Very earthy flavour, musk. Extremely dry, strong notes of heavy metals and minerals. Almost painfully dry mouthfeel. gorgeous!

Bottled:
Pours clear golden with a firm head. Pine, citrus and hops on the nose. Surprisingly thin mouth feel. Flavour is loads of fruity hops. Really long bitterness.

(large bottle - batch 001) slightly hazy pale gold with white head. Strong grassy hops aroma. Much more flavor than you’d think from the appearance - grassy hops. Dry bitter finish. Nice to see a beer like this coming out of Scotland.

Bottle with a best before date of 01/01/09 and batch 001. Poured a small semi-fizzy white head that mostly diminished, one ring of lacing, hazy, visible carbonation, and a yellow hue. The nose was citrus hops, some pineapple, pine, and some clove. The flavor was sweet, citrus hops, malt, some spice, and lightly bitter. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. Quaffable for the style, but nothing that great that it left me wanting this one again.

Well, IPA is my favorite style, and this is one of the best ones. The thing I like best about it is that they pour on the hops until any sane person would say it’s way too much... then they double them! Bright golden color with a persistent white head and lots of lacing. Nose is of bread and yeast with strong notes of floral and fruit. Taste is wonderfully complex with notes of bread, grape, banana, citrus, berries, wood, hop, and spice. Finish is in-your-face deliciously bitter over-the-top hop. This is an assertive punk!

Bottle from Once Upon a Vine McArthur in Richmond... batch 001 best by 010109. Hazy peach color with a medium frothy head and thick rings of lacing. Citrusy aroma with very bitter piney notes. Hops dominate the taste which is very dry with pear notes. Very bitter. Almost no carbonation.

33 cl bottle - A light golden colored beer with a white medium sized head. Aroma is hoppy with hints of grapefruits and oranges. Flavor is slightly sweet with a dominating hoppiness. Not really too impressed. Slightly too dry and unbalanced.

Dark Yellow, thin white head. Very nice IPA, typical flavours, one of the most bitter IPA’s I’ve had. Can’t wait to try a fresh one!
