Pours a cloudy pale gold with a thin, sloppy white head that disappeared after the first sip and left no lace. Pleasant aroma of citrus along with a bit of caramel. The flavor is weak malt followed by a strong dose of grapefruit pith bitterness that generally lacks much flavor. This is just bitterness for bitterness sake and really doesn’t do much for me. With so many IPA’s out there, this is certainly one that I would easily pass on. mar (1981), Dallas, Texas, USA

Dry tasting with pine tree and grapefruit coming in strong. High ABV is well-hidden. Goes down very well. Slick, well done, and enjoyable. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 23, 2008 Bottle. Golden/Blonde in color with a small off white head. Aroma of light earthy and floral hops, some pale malts and biscuity-dry malt. Not enough hops in the aroma for an IPA in my opinion. Taste is really nowhere near as assertive as I like an IPA to be- it does have some earthy and floral hops, with perhaps a touch of citrus but is overall lacking. A good amount of bready pale malts poking in throughout the taste, finishes dry and somewhat bitter, but just not enough. Body is there, but is still pretty light for the style. Overall I felt this was not up to par, especially considering the price tag on the bottle. Dissapointing. stouby (1962), Holbaek, Denmark

Light hazy, light yellow with a white head, fine lacings. Aroam moderate malty (caramel), heavy hoppy (pine, citrus). Flavor moderate sweet, heavy bitter, long duration. Medium body. A fine experiment. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Tasting - Perfect Pour. Hazed gold, fizzy white head. Soft floral and pine aromas ride a light sweet undertone. Light flowery pine flavors up front fade to a touch of sweet citrus. Light bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. As an IPA freak, this was more basic and standard than what I had hoped for... swoopjones (1933), Buffalo, New York, USA
